Neal Miura Obituary

Neal Miura
04/25/2024
Neal Isamu Miura passed away April 25, 2024 in his sleep after being admitted to the hospital four days earlier for gall stones, sepsis, and kidney failure.
He was born in Sacramento, CA, on March 23, 1938, to the late Helen and Roy Miura.
He is survived by his son, David and his wife, Trisha; son, Greg and his children, Kristine, Michael and Kelly; daughter, Jennifer and her husband, Ted Yamagishi and their child, Jacob. His wife, Irene; and grandson, Tyler pre-deceased him in 2007 and 2015 respectively.
During WWII, his family was initially sent to an internment camp at Tule Lake, CA, then later transferred to Topaz, UT.
In 1960, he graduated from UC Berkeley's School of Business. He worked in retail sales for over 40 years, eventually retiring to focus on his love for his garden.
He was a member of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church in San Mateo for over 40 years. He had an unending love for everything Cal.
Neal was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and will be missed not only by his family, but by the many people whose lives he touched throughout his life.
He has requested that we do not hold a memorial service. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Neal and Irene Miura Achievement Award Scholarship, UC University Development and Alumni Relations, 1995 University Avenue, Suite 400, Berkeley, CA 94704-1070, would be appreciated.
