Nimrod Himm Obituary
Nimrod passed away Monday, April 15, 2013. He was born January 26, 1952 in Wilkes-Barre, PA to Robert (deceased) and Rosella Himm. Nimrod married Denise McCrellis and they were married for 40 years. He is survived by his loving wife Denise, daughters Trisha Leon (Sam) and Rebekah Stubbles (Leroy); grandchildren Levi, Ryder, Alourabelle and Tyson; mother Rosella and brothers Robert (Lisa), Tom (Eric), John (Laura). Nimrod owned Himm's Barbers in Daly City for over 40 years. Nimrod thanks his customers for their never-ending prayers, love and support. "Thank you so much, I will never forget the 'Alaska Trip.' The customers that made this happen for my wife and I on our 40th wedding anniversary will never be forgotten. Love you guys!"
Services will be held on Sunday, April 28 at 10:00am in the Tiffany Chapel of CYPRESS LAWN FUNERAL HOME, 1370 El Camino Real, Colma, CA.

I met Nim through mutual friends the summer of 1969. I remember him borrowing his brother's car. I went to another school the following year and we lost touch. I am sorry to hear about his passing.

My heartfelt condolences to everyone in the Himm family. Words can't adequately describe the sense of loss so many of us feel. I first met Nimrod as a 13 year old in 1980 and over the next 33 years came to cherish our many conversations, camaraderie, and friendship. I'll miss our many conversations on sports, family, the Carson Valley and so many other things. Your positive outlook on life, especially during your illness, was an inspiration for us all. I think it will really hit home for me this week as I begin to search for someone new to cut my hair.
Thanks for the many great memories and for your friendship. No doubt there's a nice chair waiting for you next to your dad in that great barber shop in the sky. I'll miss you, but your memory will always live on.

"Best Shave and Haircut on the Highway" Those were the proud words I remember as a kid when Bob Himm was the owner.Fast forward 25 years and Nimrod is my barber.He was the best and always made you feel special.Reading the thoughts of others in the Guest Book brings back that "vibe" that was present at Himm's.Always a positive experience.Rest in peace Nim,you will be missed.

For 28 years you made me look my best. Faithfully every 3 weeks I came into the barber shop and just could not wait to see what the conversation of the day would be. Boy if those walls could talk. They could have filmed a reality show in that shop and it would have been the best show that ever aired. You were a special person in my life Nimm. You had a great personality, sense of humor and you loved your family so much. Though I did not meet your family, I felt I knew them by the stories you told me over the years. We laughed so much. To Denise and all the family, my deepest condolences to you all. I was a customer of Nimrod's for 38 years and I never had so many laughs than at the barber shop. I met Nimrod when I was 16 as he would come over to my friends house and cut the hair of the Frith brothers who had Muscular Dystrophy and were confined to wheel chairs. Nimrod did not have to do that, but that is the kind of person he was. I came down with A.L.S. (Lou Gherigs Disease) when I was 49 and Nim gave me such encouragement each time I would get a haircut. After his diagnosis with cancer, he was so positive about it, and we would give each other pep talks as he cut my hair. He and Jeff were such pranksters at the shop, you never knew what was going to happen. All I can say that that Nimmy was my good friend and I will miss him dearly.

Our hearts are breaking for Nimrod's Family. We have known Nimrod for about 30 years. We loved visiting him at the barber shop. We loved the rapport that he and Jeff shared. It was like being at a stand up comedy show. The laughter that was within the walls of Himms Barber Shop was overwhelming. Nimrods strength during this ordeal has been amazing.
