Ortencia "Tange" Padilla-Boetto

Ortencia "Tange" Boetto, 84 of La Quinta, CA passed away November 7th in her home after a long battle with breast and lung cancer. She was born on October 10, 1931 in Santa Barbara, California and attended Balboa High School in San Francisco. Tange was married to her high school sweet heart Bob Boetto for 65 years.


Tange was a mother and homemaker, and a womens clothing store business owner in Madison Wisconsin, before she moved with her husband Bob to Yorba Linda, CA in 1985 and then retired to La Quinta, CA in 2004. She was an avid golfer and a member of the Nakoma Country Club womens golf group. She was a great supporter of junior golf at Nakoma County Club, and youth sports in general. Tange was an amazing woman with a beautiful spirit and a warm heart, she absolutely adored her children and grandchildren and was an incredible example of unconditional love. Tange had many friends in Madison, Yorba Linda, and here in the Desert that she loved very much and she enjoyed playing slots at the Augustine Casino. Her friendship, advice, hilarious sense of humor and engaging smile and laugh will be missed. She made everyone she came into contact with feel like she knew them forever.


She is survived by her husband Bob Boetto Sr., her son Bobb Boetto of La Quinta, her daughter Gabrielle Musil of Murrieta, Grandsons Zachary Boetto, Tony Boetto, Austin Musil, Brett Musil and granddaughter Ashley Musil. She is also survived by her sister Carmen of Farmington, New Mexico. She was pre-deceased by her sisters, Amelia and Celia, and her brothers Roy Padilla and Pat Padilla.


There will be a service for Ortencia Boetto on Saturday Nov 14th at 9:00 a.m. at the Forrest Lawn Memorial Park and Mortuary 69855 E. Ramon Road, Cathedral City, California. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lucy Curci Cancer Center at Eisenhower Medical Center, or to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
