May you rest in peace Patrice. You were a wonderful coworker and friend when we first met at Ashland Chemical in the San Francisco Bay area in the early 2000s.

I met Patrice about a year and a half ago, when we were all spending a lot of time walking our dogs in lieu of socializing. Though I never got to know her well, she quickly became someone that I looked forward to running into on the trails and in the park. She was friendly, smart, and had a dry wit that was much appreciated. Her absence in the neighborhood has been felt by the many of us who enjoyed seeing her and Chester on their long walks. My most sincere condolences to her family.

I first contacted Patrice when I realized my aging father needed advanced care. I called after a mutual friend recommended her. In that moment, everything seemed overwhelming. I needed to go through a lifetime of furnishings and possessions before selling the house and I didn't know where to begin. We arranged to meet at the house. As we walked through, she evaluated what needed to be done to get the house market ready. Afterward we sat on the front steps as she laid out a plan and a timeline. It seemed so obvious as she talked, and I was so grateful! She was also as empathetic as she was direct. Since she had been through a similar experience with her parent´s home, and she understood what I was experiencing. I agreed to her plan and signed a contract on the spot. Patrice was supportive but firm every step of the way, keeping me to the timeline. And, very importantly, she was a woman of her word. She recommended individuals for certain tasks, and each one did a great job within the expected time. Once ready for market, Patrice listed the house quickly as she had promised, and I had an offer within days. After the sale, we continued to stay in touch. I was able to ensure my father had the best of care and was close by during his last days. Loved her strength, her wit, and her courage, but most of all her kindness. Rest in peace dear friend!

I had the pleasure of working with Patrice at the Department of Energy. She was a tremendous talent and a wonderful colleague. She will be tremendously missed.

Patrice truly cared for the ocean and the life it supports. We are grateful that she and Chris were able to spend time at The Marine Mammal Center headquarters in Sausalito. We will miss her greatly.
