Dear Colleen,
Your dad broke this rookie in at the old Potrero Station in 1965. He exuded great confidence, experience and was a nice man about bringing along an ignorant kid. Talked to him many nights while picking up radios from Communications. He was one of those guys that people never forget and remember with respect.
By the way, Colleen, this Dan Sheehan from GGP Stable.

Colleen, So often we spoke of me meeting your Dad, but time just didn't allow it to happen. Clearly he was loved and respected by many and brought so much joy to this world. What a blessing and weren't you and your siblings so fortunate to have him as your Dad! I know how much you will miss him and how much you love him. My prayers are with you and your family during this very difficult time. Pat is no longer suffering and he is now with his precious wife, smiling down on his kids. One day you will be joined together again. In the meantime, I'm blessed because I get to share in your sense of humor and passion for life. Love you my friend.

I was drawn to the Simmon's home at an early age .A place full of smiles, laughter, jokes & stories as only Pat could tell.He was the father I wanted.I sat through my share of his "For Christ sakes"talks. He passed his smile on to all his children. That Simmons smile & set of values that say he's always with you

Dear Judi, Theresa, and the Simmons Family,

Deepest sympathy to all of you at this time. I remember your Dad from our school days, and when he was off-duty he would be around. I think they gave him the rowdiest guys in our class on field trips! I will always remember him as "Judi's and Theresa's Dad, the police officer." You are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Sincerely,
Carol Pudlow

Pat was my Sergeant in Communications. He was one of the best bosses I ever had, always treating the brand new civilian dispatchers with respect, mixed with a lot of humor. Rest in Peace Pat and my deepest condolences to your family.

I worked for Pat at Taraval Station, later while assigned to the Honda Park & Beach Unit I would often see Pat walking his dog in a meadow close to the Polo Fields. We would always chat about the good old days, who was doing what, and after he retired, I'd catch him up on the latest department gossip. He was a very good man, and good boss. I share in your loss.

How lucky I was to spend 42 years with this Legandary Man. Being his very first Grandchild, who was lucky enough to be born the day after him, was a true Honor. My Grandfather was everything right and just in this world. I could listen to his stories forever. He loved San Francisco and his 28 years with SFPD. A piece of San Francisco History has been lost with his passing. We lost a good one. God Luv Ya, Grandpa. I'll miss u.
