Paul Hammack Obituary

Paul Hammack
May 20, 1969 - December 15, 2022
On December 14, 2022, we lost a dear and wonderful man – a husband, father, family member, friend and colleague, Paul E. Hammack. Paul was born on May 20, 1969, in Redwood City, California and tragically died at the age of 53 in Granite Bay, California as a backseat passenger in a vehicle collision. Paul graduated from Serra High School in San Mateo and then earned a bachelor's degree in economics at the University of California, Davis. Upon graduation, Paul started his career in the insurance industry by joining the family insurance business - Professional Insurance Associates Inc., in San Carlos, California. Through hard work and dedication to his craft, he became a titan in the insurance industry. Very few in the industry didn't know him, and he was consistently invited to participate on insurance company advisory boards and educational panels. Insurance executives and agents often sought out his advice, which he always gave freely and with humor, backed by 30+ years of first-hand experience.
Paul's favorite hobby was golf, and he was a very active member of the Granite Bay Golf Club in Granite Bay, California. Another one of his passions was soccer; playing and refereeing in high school, and later, he joined Harmonie football club in Palo Alto and a local football club after moving to Granite Bay. He never met a big slobbery dog that he did not hug and play with immediately, and, although he would never admit it, he loved playing with cats as well. He took enormous pride in and gave so much love to his children and wife who miss him beyond words. He traveled the world, made friends wherever he went, was caring and generous, goofy and smart, and loved life.
Paul touched many lives and will forever be fondly remembered for his mischievous smile, his sharp wit, and his love for his friends and family. He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Elizabeth; his four children Emma (20), James (18), Katherine (16) and William (15); as well as his sister Julie Hammack, brother Devan Hammack, stepbrother Sterling Hammack, mother Paula Hammack and more friends whom he loved than we can count.
A Celebration of Life for Paul will be held May 19, 2023 in Sacramento. A college scholarship fund is being founded in his memory to encourage young adults to enter the insurance industry. More information will be posted on social media when the scholarship is established.

Gone but never forgotten. Your legacy will dwell in our hearts forever, Funny memory was our last trip together Panorama trip to Pismo. You asked us Kat, Mary Jo, & Barbara Ornellas where we were going and i responded to the Mall & you yelled out ohh just get me a pink lipstick and red nail polish - that was your last joke and we laughed and i yelled back YES i will. That was your last word. We love you Paul...

Many fond memories working for the Hammack´s back in the early `90´s at PIA in San Carlos. Paul was the voice of reason and always was there for me to lend an ear and give his advice with a humorous twist. My condolences to the Hammack family, his wife, children, and so many friends Paul had. He will be extremely missed.

Elizabeth & Family - I am shocked and saddened to hear of Paul's death. We had worked in the insurance industry together and I met him in 2009 at a BHHC advisory council. Always a comedian, but thoughtful and smart as heck...and I always appreciated his honesty and candor. I pray for comfort for you all. I am so sorry.

Paul, all I can do is smile when I think about you. You always made me laugh and always cheered me up just by being you. I inspire as an individual to become the man that you have always been. I'll miss you my friend, for so many reasons. Godspeed.

I´m so so sorry for your loss. I knew Paul and the Hammack family back in our soccer days as kids. Always a nice kid even back then. Such a bummer.
