Peter Corkum Obituary

Peter Freeman Corkum Dec. 31, 1944 - Jan. 1, 2012 Peter Freeman Corkum, born in Washington, D.C., passed away suddenly of natural causes at the VA facility in San Francisco where he lived. Son of the late Freeman Gordon Corkum and the late Dorothy Corkum Mason, and brother of the late Prudence Force, he is survived by his sisters, Cassandra Cosby (Bob) and Sally Manley (Gary), his brother, Sam Corkum (Patti), his nieces, Cindy Kelvey (Lisa DeMeulenaere) and Amy Frost (Josh), and his nephews, Coleman Cosby (Kathy) and Ravidas Rourke. Peter proudly served in the United States Coast Guard that took him to many foreign ports and US coastal waters. He was an expert sailor and lived his life near the sea. As a member of the Novato Elks Lodge he volunteered his services for community projects. Peter was a charming, outgoing, and generous person who will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. Donations in his honor may be made to the Crohns Disease Foundation or any organization that aids veterans. A private service will be held at the Fort Miley Chapel.

Peter, although I only met you one time. I feel as if i have known you for many years. Cindy spoke often of the times she spent with you when she was a child. May your family take comfort in knowing you are now another angel watching over them. R.I.P Peter
