As one of the youngest of the mentioned Great-Grandchildren, and having lived on the east coast I was never able to truly get to know my GrandNonno. What I do remember is his laugh and constant smile. Though he passed away while I was only 6 years old, I still remember His 100th birthday celebration, and playfully messing around with the microphone while everyone stared at me sitting on his lap. Reading this years later brings tears to my eyes, and reminds me of fond memories long forgotten.

We want to express to you all how much we loved Peter and what a wonderful man he was. When we attended St. Vincent de Paul Church in the 70's and 80's Peter was always there to assist as an usher, collector of offerings and was forever the consumate gentleman. He was always easy to spot around the Marina District with that beautiful platinum hair and fine attire. He always turned heads. While Albina Bechelli was a resident at the Heritage, we would always stop by to visit with Peter, his room always filled with a guest or two at all times. His generosity, graciousness, many kindnesses and goodness will always be remembered. Peter was one of a kind and we'll miss him.
God bless.

Peter was a great man and a wonderful friend to my Nonna, Clelia Scopel, my Nonno Barlem Scopel, and my parents George and Sadie Paiva. I still have the twin bed set my mother purchased in 1950 from Peter that my brother and I used. I can still remember him and my Nonna picking me up one day when I was in kindergarten. My prayers will always include Peter, and all the Giovanzana's for all they did for my family.
Love and Sympathy,
Bob Paiva
