I was so very sad to hear of Peter´s passing. I worked with him at Kaiser and later chose him as my primary physician. I made sure to make an appointment with him when I learned his retirement was imminent.
He was a fine physician and beautiful human being. Along with so many others, I will surely miss him and remember him.
Love and condolences to the family, Christine Oyer RN

I had an appointment with my primary physician at Kaiser and was saddened to hear that Dr. Peter Remedios made his transition. He was my primary doctor for 25 yrs .. During my last visit with him, he informed me that he was going to retire. I remembered telling him that he was divorcing and abandoning me and I was going to sue him for patient alimony .. Nevertheless , was very careful and referred me to another wonderful doctor..
I recall that we will spend 45-1hr talking about his love of tennis and, family .. .. He was more than a doctor and I regarded him as a friend. So, my condolences to the family, all of his former patients and colleagues.. RIP Pete .,

Pete was our primary care doctor for 29 years, and one of our favorite people. We are deeply saddened by the news of his sudden death, and curtailed retirement. He was a kind compassionate man who really listened to us. He did not rush through our visits. My heart goes out to his wife and family. We are so very sorry for your loss. We remember when he wore Mickey Mouse ties! It is safe to say we loved him, and he will be sorely missed.

I worked with him as a social worker at Kaiser. We made many home visits together. He treated patients like a neighbor or friend making them so comfortable. He had such compassion. No divide between him and them

I have great memories of Pete as he was very kind, compassionate and had a very quiet and humble way of leading the Kaiser San Francisco Continuum. I remember him talking about a 93 y/o patient he visited at home in the Community Care Outreach Program. He cared about his patients like family. He also had such a funny way how he laughed. I can still see him in my memory doing so and it makes me smile.
He will be missed. Sincere condolences and prayers to the family during this very sad time.

"Pete" was much more than my beloved primary care physician for over 25 years; he was a friend and confidant and a gift shared by his parents, Chris and their kids with the rest of us. I have sorely missed him and his care since he retired three years ago but I was happy that he had decided to focus on enjoying the rest of his life. I am extremely saddened that he passed on so soon but comforted that he is among the angels. Sympathies and condolences to Chris and his immediate and larger families.

I too was a patient of Dr. Remedios for over 25 years which started out as a recommendation upon signing on with Kaiser from Blue Cross. There is something about a Dr. who cares for you and with you. Spending extra time to get to share stories was probably against the norm in the HMO world now with metrics and work load. However, I didn´t mind waiting a little cuz, I was being cared for by a doctor who cared for me and not just my health. The doctor was caring for all of his patients equally. I had the same expectations from my reassigned doctor when he retired. What an awakening. I now realize how blessed I was to have had him as my doctor.
I will deeply miss you and pray for strength and guidance to Chris and the family.

jMy condolence to the Remedios family. I was a patient of Dr. Remedios for over twenty years. He was highly recommended by my sister-in -law a Kaiser social worker when I rejoined Kaiser, He was a friendly and patient doctor where I felt very comfortable discussing any health issues, I was sadden when Dr. Remedios announced his retirement and shocked when I saw his obiturary in today's Chronicle. Kaiser was lucky to have Dr, Remedios on staff and will be sorely missed.

It was a privilege to have had Dr. Remedios as my internist at Kaiser-SF during the last of my 44 years in SF. In 2007 when I was priced out and returned to my native Wisconsin, I carried with me a handwritten note from this preeminent human being wishing me happiness and expressing how he had enjoyed having me as his patient. I second everything others have written about Dr. Remedios and I send profound condolences to Mrs. Remedios and all of the family for this very shocking loss. Dr. Remedios had and deserved miles to go and I believe that perhaps, somewhere out there, he will explore and engage with all those miles he did not have here on Earth. Farewell dear, kind, wonderful doctor.

Condolences to the Remedios family. Doctor Remedios was my primary care doctor for over 25 years. At my request, he also took care of my mother Louise in her final years. I was at a loss after his retirement 3 years ago, now the news of his passing is a sad shock. He was a doctor who was genuinely caring and cheerful. Our conversations usually started with talk of blood pressure and ended with Giants baseball. I consider myself privileged to have been his patient. I know that there are many people who will mourn his loss.

Pete and I met when I started working at Kaiser in 1989 and immediately became and remained friends throughout our careers. I had imagined we would stay close in retirement, and although we did get together regularly I never imagined the time would be so short.
Many people, especially his patients, loved and admired Pete. He was an excellent clinician as well as kind, easy going and funny as hell. A great baseball (and racing) fan, I had envisioned years of spring training vacations and betting at the track ahead for him.
He was the best friend, colleague and doctor anyone could have and I´ll miss him more than I can say.
My sincerest sympathies to Chris and family.
