Peter Ryan Obituary
Passed away at home in the presence of his family on July 10, 2013. Age 86. Raised in a classic thatched roof Irish cottage in Kilmaine, Co. Mayo, Ireland. Dearly beloved husband of Eileen for 50+ years. Beloved father of Stephen (Shauna), Kevin (Karen) and Anne Marie. Adored grandpa of Ronan. Dear brother of Bridie and the late Nellie, James, Mary, Martin and Teresa. Loving uncle of many nieces and nephews in the U.S., Canada, Ireland and England. Peter emigrated to British Columbia as a young man and came to San Francisco in 1960 where he became a member of Hodcarriers Local 36 he later worked for the City & County of San Francisco. A charter member of the United Irish Cultural Center, he will be truly missed. Donations preferred to St. Cecilia's Church in lieu of flowers.
Friends may call for visitation on Monday, July 15 at St. Cecilia's Church, 17th Ave & Vicente St. after 10:00 am where the Rosary will be recited at 10:45 and are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at 11:00 am. Committal, Holy Cross Cemetery.

Sorry to hear of "Uncle" Pete's passing. I fondly remember him since I was young and he was boarding at our house in Vancouver. He was also my Uncle Tom's wife, Theresa's brother.

Eileen, I am very sorry to hear of Pete's death. I enjoyed meeting him at Mass or out walking in the neighborhood. We would reminisce about our time at Maple's Boarding House on Page Street. Pete was a gentle man. Our condolences to you and your family. Kevin and Kathleen Loftus
