Presbytera Mary Kosturos

December 27, 1924 - January 31, 2018

Presbytera Mary Kosturos, age 93, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2018 with her family by her bedside. She was born in Lowell, MA to James and Paula (Dragataris) Dardas.

After graduating from Lowell Commercial College, Mary worked as a bookkeeper and secretary for E. F. Hutton Brokerage firm. She married Rev Father Anthony Kosturos in 1948 and enjoyed 56 loving years together before his passing in 2004. Her entire adult life was devoted to raising her seven children: Nicholas (Christine), Elaine, James (Kathy), Theodore (Helen), Paul (Dena), Paula (Louie Tzoumbas), and Marina (Dean Gonzalez). She was adored by her nine grandchildren: Mariana, Cassandra, Anthony, George, Paulina, Nicholas, Tiffany, Niko and Mariah, and one great granddaughter, Sienna. Presbytera is also survived by her sisters Sally and Katherine (Charles Costos), and preceded by Helen (Perry Koskotas). Presbytera Mary will be forever remembered for her deep faith, dedication to family, loving and generous spirit, kind and jovial nature, quick wit, and warm smile. Family and friends are invited to attend the Prayer Service (Trisagion) on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at 7:30pm at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 999 Brotherhood Way, San Francisco. Funeral service is on Friday, February 9, 2018 at 11am. Interment to follow at Greek Orthodox Memorial Park, 1148 El Camino Real, Colma. The Makaria will be held at Father Anthony Kosturos Memorial Hall. Memorial contributions in the memory of Presbytera Mary may be made to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.

I can still remember Father Anthony and his beloved Presvitera when they first came to Holy Trinity such a beautiful loving family I used to beg her to let me stroll the babies at the Church picnic May she rest in peace n loving memory of a wonderful person.
