Raymond Drexler Obituary

Raymond Drexler
03/26/1964 - 04/01/2024
Raymond Drexler, a beloved son, and sometimes mischievous brother and uncle, passed away suddenly on April 1, 2024, five days after his 60th birthday. Born in San Francisco and raised in Daly City, Raymond was kind and generous and adored his parents dearly. He loved his SF Giants, 49ers, and Warriors. He loved music and spent hours behind the drum set throughout his life. Raymond had a love for literature, Stephen King being his favorite. For 26 years, Raymond worked for the City of San Francisco at MUNI. He is preceded in death by his brother Gregory, and survived by his grieving parents, James and Jewel Drexler, his siblings Marilyn, Vincent, Jewel, and Ingrid, along with cherished nieces and nephews who will deeply miss him.
Friends and family are invited to the viewing from 3:00pm - 6:00pm and Prayer Service at 5:00pm on Monday, April 15, 2024 at Duggan's Serra Mortuary in Daly City.

Ray was a kind and fun person. Whom I had the pleasure to know. When I worked part time at the old Skyline Pet Hospital, he would come up to visit his Mom Jewel and we would talk. I was always interested in his work on the LRV'S as I am a train buff. He will be missed.

I've known Raymond since we were in elementary school. We became friends. I remember visiting his house with him in maybe 3rd or 4th grade. He was always a nice person. I remember he was involved with playing some type of musical instrument but I don't remember what it was? Raymond, myself and his sister Marilyn were all in the same class at Thomas Edison Elementary School in Daly City. It was a mixed class of both 5th graders and 6th graders and the teacher was Mrs Wooten. Me and Raymond were both in 5th grade and his sister Marilyn was in 6th grade. During the recent years I happen to notice Raymond was on the same bus as me near top of the hill Daly City. He told me he had gotten a really good job from Muni repairing LRVs. I was surprised and thought that was really cool. Now suddenly I'm saddened to hear that he passed recently. I'm so very sorry. Somehow time just flew by... I'm now 60 years old writing about losing a friend that I've known since about third grade. When I was little my parents told me that time would go by quick and someday I would understand. Now I understand. Respect, condolences and prayers to the Drexler family. May God bless my old friend Raymond Drexler and his family, Amen.
