Remy Everett Obituary

Remy Everett

Passed away peacefully on September 13, 2015, at the age of 65. She was born in San Francisco on September 15, 1949 to Policarpo and Rosario Nepomuceno. Remy attended All Hallows School and graduated from St. Vincent's High School. As a graduate from San Francisco State University, she earned her teaching and Administrative credentials and Master's degree.

Remy had a passion for teaching and enriching the lives of her students. She dedicated 44 years of her life as an educator in the Archdiocese of San Francisco teaching at All Hallows School in San Francisco, St. Hilary School in Tiburon, St. Gregory School in San Mateo and St. Philip the Apostle School in San Francisco where it was her great joy to take on the leadership role of Principal.

Remy was the beloved wife of John Everett, and devoted mother of Jason, Catherine, and Chariz. She was the adored sister of 11 brothers and sisters, loving aunt to 28 nephews and nieces and grand-aunt to 8 grand nephews and nieces.

Family and friends meant everything to Remy and she spent her life celebrating them. She is held most dearly in the hearts of many, and especially treasured by her lifelong friends, Jo, Cindy and Janice.

Remy loved traveling and exploring new places, be it the ocean, the mountains or the cities. She enjoyed them all. She equally loved gathering family and friends into her home for her creative and "famous parties"!

Most of all, Remy was a woman of great faith and integrity. She was an extremely generous, caring and giving person who embraced every challenge in her life with an intensity of spirit.

Remy will be cherished always in our hearts as we carry with us her wonderful, bright smile and her enthusiasm for life.

A scholarship fund has been established at St. Philip the Apostle School in honor of Remy. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Philip School with reference on the memo line "Remy Everett Scholarship Fund". 665 Elizabeth St. San Francisco, CA 94114

The Rosary Vigil is scheduled for 7:00PM Thursday, 9/17/15, followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:30AM on Friday, 9/18/15 at St Bartholomew's Church, 300 Alameda de las Pulgas, San Mateo CA 94402.

In 8th grade at All Hallows, Remy chose me to lead one of the groups. It was the first time any teacher had that kind of faith in me. Almost 30 years later, I still think about that moment and feel forever grateful. Remy was truly a beautiful soul, a light in this world. It is with much sadness that I never got to tell her how much she meant to me and what an impact she made in my life.

September 28, 2015

I learned how to be fair and compassionate from her more so than from anyone else. She is able to blend kindness with discipline. Remy had an ability to truly emphasize with children. I knew you a brief mommen in time but you impacted my life and make me want to be a better person! You gently haunt me often and will always be in my thoughts and prayers!

Dear Everett Family:

I had the honors of attending your visitation with Vicky and was truly impressed on everyone who came to your service.

When I attended All Hallows I knew you then but did you ever develop into such a lovely qualified, funny, kind, and thoughtful school teacher, vice principal and principal.

My brother R.T, Vicky, and I knew that you really wanted to be married someday so you really did and it was very lovingly celebrated at St. Greggs.

I will miss you and know your survivors John, Karen, Charisse, Jay and his wife will carry on your legacy of love.

May God bless you as you rest in peace.

Sincerely,
Pat Chu, S.F.

I recently called in order to see when I would be able to visit Mrs. Everett since I had not seen her in 10-11 years. I was a former student of her's. She showed me kindness and compassion like no other. She helped my mom financially so I could attend St. Philips because I needed the stability and education the school provided. I am honestly so saddened by seeing this so late, and not being able to attend the anything because I didn't know she passed away. I remember when I was a kid, I would rip my pants and would be embarrassed and teased by the other kids. Mrs. Everett would find an extra pair of pants for me to change into, take my pants, and sew the holes and tears up. I wish I could have seen her before she passed. I will deeply miss her

I am so sorry to hear of Remy's death. She was a junior high teacher when I was principal at St. Hilary's. She was so full of life and joy and was totally devoted to her work as teacher.
I feel privileged to have known her and worked with her. I met her again when I was on sabbatical in California and she was as bubbly as ever. I can only imagine how sad all her family must be at her passing. What a wonderful person!May she rest in peace and be with all of you in spirit.

I drove by your old Family house on Revere last weekend, which brought back wonderful memories. Then, once home, as I was thinking of you, I looked at our photo taken at the All Hallows Anniversary dinner, and decided to try and to organize a get together with those who went to All Hallows with us. You were a beautiful, loving friend who will be really missed. My prayers and condolences are being sent to your family.

Remy carried such joy and such thoughtfulness in all that she did with the people she served be it family, students, parents or colleagues. I had the pleasure of knowing and working with Remy in our ministry of Catholic education. Now she has returned to the Sacrerd Heart of Jesus. Then again, she never left it because of who she was and how she lived; Christ-centered and caring no matter the task. The community of St. Dusntan School prays for her, her family and the many freinds who mourn her loss, particularly St. Phillips School of San Francisco. Rest in peace dear friend and thank you for your wonderful life.
