I am so sorry Vicky. An Elder (and Prsididing Overseer) in my Daly City Congregation died sudenly and we were all attending his service Saturday.

My sympathies on his passing, I didn't actually know him. If Richard ever served in the military, his wife can probably collect a medical pension since ALS is recognized as a qualifying disease for spouse survivors benefits. This is relatively new so you may not know about it. My cousin's family went through this a year or so ago, I recommend looking into it, if he ever served in the military. Just looking to help. Again, my sympathies on your loss.

When I think of the years of yesterdays, memories of Rip and the friends of his from the SFPD days puts a huge smile on my face. What a wonderful man he was and the laughter and joys were many.
