Dr. Snyder made a very substantial contribution to my life, when he took a chance on me and admitted me to Stanford. I showed up uninvited at his admissions office an early August morning. I carried my education transcripts (which were not pretty) and my discharge papers from my recent 4 years of service in the U.S. Navy. After a probing discussion about my goals and plans, he decided to give me a chance, and had me admitted on probation the next month. Over the next 5 years I completed my AB and my MBA. I've never forgotten the faith he expressed in me and the confidence it instilled in me. It still impacts and inspires me. You will be missed, kind sir.
