Robert Beyer Obituary

Robert Henry Beyer
08/25/1945 - 07/09/2024
Robert H. "Bob" Beyer passed away on July 9, 2024.
A San Francisco native, born August 25, 1945. Bob's parents, Otto and Erna Beyer, were originally from Germany.
Bob will be sadly missed by his beloved wife, Helen; his brother-in-law, Norman Larson; and Norman's daughter, Selena Larson, her spouse, Marissa, and their son, Ryder; Norman's son, Brad Larson; sister-in-law, Irene Larson, her husband, Lawrence Hornbeck, and their children; Sveta Hornbeck, and her children, Dima and Slavik; Katia Hornbeck, and her son, Stas; and Bob's nephew, Pasha Hornbeck.
Bob was a Lowell High School graduate. He entered the Electrician's Apprenticeship program, becoming an Inside Journeyman of IBEW Local #6 in San Francisco for over 50 years.
Robert married Helen Larson, also a San Francisco native. They grew up just blocks apart in Noe Valley and went to the same elementary and junior high schools, never meeting each other. They met at a merchant's function near Helen's work in Lakeside Village (S.F.) on December 30, 1967, and were married on March 15, 1969. They celebrated over 55 years of marriage.
Bob and Helen enjoyed traveling over the years, beginning with a two month honeymoon camping through Europe in a Volkswagen Camper, touring 11 countries and traveling more than 6,000 miles. They traveled to Europe, Tahiti, Mexico, Alaska, Hawaii, New Zealand and Australia, as well as, several cruises.
Bob had a compassionate way of listening to children, teens and young adults without judging, only supporting. He was known as "F"uncle Bob to many nieces and nephews.
Bob developed a love for golf and did make a hole-in-one.
Bob received a kidney transplant on February 14, 2020, just days before COVID broke out.

I got to know Bob a little at the Local 6 retirees meetings, a nice easy-going man to enjoy the day with and share experiences.

Bob was a talented electrician and a valued colleague for many years. He was always willing to go wherever the job took him, and his dedication to his work and his coworkers made him a favorite among all of us at Bradley Electric. His sense of humor and readiness for fun at any event will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
Sending love to Helen and his family.

A great union brother. I worked with and for Bob several times over our careers and they were some of the best jobs I was ever on.
