Robert Cutler Obituary

Robert Nathan Cutler
01/04/1930 - 12/29/2024
Robert Nathan Cutler. Born January 4, 1930 to Alex and Clara Cutler at Mt. Zion Hospital. Died December 29, 2024 in Thousand Oaks, CA. Robert is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Eleanor Cutler (Holtz); son Michael Cutler; daughter Nancy Cutler Dye; grandchildren Alex, Hannah, and Morgan Dye; sister-in-law Arlene Leiber (Paul); niece Diane Goldberg (James, deceased); nephews Roger Colvin (Barbara), Mitchell Leiber, and David Leiber (Janina), and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. Robert was preceded in death by his sisters HelenHirsch (Alex) and Marilyn Colvin (Leonard); nephew Steven Leiber (Leigh); and oldest, lifelong friends Jack Grossman and Lloyd Sankowich.
Robert grew up in the Richmond District, attended Lafayette Elementary, Presidio Junior High, and George Washington High School before earning his B.S. degree in Business at University of San Francisco.
In 1954, Robert joined his father Alex in the commercial real estate business, earning the unofficial title of "The King of Geary Boulevard" for his many years of selling, leasing, and managing properties in the Richmond District. During his career, Robert served as Treasurer of the S.F. Real Estate Association and Director of the California Real Estate Association.
Robert spent 92 of his 94 years living in San Francisco and loved nothing more than taking family to dinner at a number of The City's oldest and finest restaurants, like Harris' Steakhouse. Robert was an enthusiastic, lifelong fan of the Giants, Warriors, and 49ers, and had season tickets to the 49er games for many years with several of his childhood friends, from the time they played at Kezar Stadium through most of their run at Candlestick Park.
Robert met his beautiful wife Eleanor in the autumn of 1961, and they married at the Fairmont Hotel in the spring of 1962. They spent 60 years together in their beloved San Francisco, moving to Newbury Park in 2022 to be closer to their children and grandchildren.

Bob Cutler was our realtor in San Francisco. My parents owned properties on the Geary Blvd Corridor which Bob helped us managed.

He was my go to person whenever I had a rental issue. I still have tenants that he helped me with the negotiations.

We lost our mother shortly after Bob passed.. so I feel the loss more..

Thank you for kind friendship.

What can I say about my wonderful friend /real estate friend? Since 1970, he has been a friend and real estate agent to my family and me. Always a guiding light in all my real estate transaction. Bob was a man well respected as a person and as an agent. May he rest in peace. Blessings to his family.

Deepest sympathy from the Andreas family, Arthur, Erika, Chris, Livia and Zander, to Ellie and the children. Arthur and Bob were born days apart in San Francisco and were friends in junior high, high school, during their stint in the Air Force in Spokane, Washington, in the '50s, and throughout the rest of their lives. If Arthur were able, his message to Bob would be "rest in peace dear friend."

My condolences to Bob's family. Having worked with Bob for so many years he was always a man of great integrity and always on an even keel. The Rosenberg family owes alot to Bob who found many great pieces of real estate in San Francisco for us. May his memory be a blessing for his family. It is for me.
