Robert Oscar Johnson
April 21, 1936 - January 20, 2024
Bob was a native San Franciscan, a longtime resident of Burlingame Hills, a graduate of San Jose State University, and the University of Utah, and served in the US Army. He was past student officers at Balboa High School and City College of SF, a member of the Dolphin Club (swimming Alcatraz to SF and across the Golden Gate) as well as the Burlingame Bridge Club, Sequoia Woods Country Club and past President of the California Golf Club. Bob was VP and Director of the GES Corp. He was also a past Director of the Hotel Managers Assn, the International Assn of Exposition Managers, the Professional Conference Managers Assn, and of the Convention Bureaus of San Francisco, San Mateo, and San Jose.
He is survived by his wife, Sandy , of 57 yrs, his sons: Mark (Lesley) and Scott (McKenzie) and his grandchildren: Chase (Alexa), Lexi, and Grant, all of whom would like to thank the incredible staffs of the VA- PA & MP and Mission Hospice for their expertise and compassion, and also, of course, his amazing family and friends who gave deep meaning, love and laughter to his life.
A Celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Donations can be made to MissionHospice.org
