Robert Kurtz Obituary

Robert Kurtz
01/13/1933 - 11/11/2024
Robert "Bob" Kurtz, husband of Lillian Kurtz for 67 years, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2024 at the age of 91. Born in Newark, New Jersey in 1933, Bob lived in Hackensack, NJ until his family moved to California when he was 14. He attended Lowell High School in San Francisco and then UC Berkeley, graduating in 1954.
After serving in the army in France for two years, Bob returned to San Francisco where he met his future wife, Lillian while both were working at the downtown Macy's department store. After a whirlwind courtship, they married in 1957, eventually settling on the San Francisco Peninsula to raise their two children, with the help of Lillian's Mother (Natasha).
After retiring in 1994, following a more than 30-year career in the carpet industry, Bob waited for Lillian to retire before relocating with her to Orange County to be closer to their children; Renee & Ron (Jennifer Simpson) and grandchildren (Jack & Ava). Bob is also survived by the family of his late brother-in-law Daniel Khirman, including his wife Shirley, their children, Jennifer (John Soriano) and Jon (Erin Khirman) and four grandchildren (Sofia & Isabella, Lauren & Shea).
Lillian describes Bob as the love of her life, devoted to his family and a proud American, always on the side of truth and forever interested in the lives of his fellow human beings.
