To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die
Bob Lom passed away unexpectedly March 12th just days after celebrating his 85th birthday at his vacation home in La Quinta California with family and friends. His loving wife, Denise, and best friend was with him at his untimely death.
Bob's career was marked by his successful investing in real estate and the stock market. He had a passion and flare for women's fashion and was very proud of 9 family-owned Frances Shop's in Northern California. One of his greatest enjoyments was always looking for the perfect solution to the frustrating game of golf which evaded him for over 70 years.
He loved his devoted wife Denise, his family, his two huge Mainecoon cats Dave and Steve and every day was a blessing for Bob. A great athlete, he attended Lowell High school and UC Berkeley where he quarterbacked the Bears.
Everyone loved to be around Bob as he missed his calling as an entertainer and a legendary storyteller. When thinking of Bob, one cannot stop smiling when reliving the experience of being with him when telling a story.
Bob and Denise had a merged family. Bob's family: Richard Lom, Ron Lom and wife Jodi, Dan Lom, and his former wife Christine Lom. Denise's family: Dennis Pico and wife Susie, Brent Pico and wife Stephanie, and Sean Gregory. With a grand total of 10 Grandchildren that he adored.
Even though Bob's shoulders were injured he would hit golf balls on the range at his favorite place "The Palms Golf Club". He was always experimenting and searching for the golf "secret" with touring pros, great amateurs, and helping hackers find their golf game as well. He loved to BBQ and was a master of the grill.
Bob will continue to live in our hearts, minds and soul and laugh we should when remembering his antics. That is how he would want all of us to recall that his making everyone else laugh was insatiable.
There will be a celebration of Bob's life on April 15 at Discovery Bay Golf and Country Club from 1-3.

I wish miss my dear cousin´s conversations we had during catch up Holiday time. He will always be so dear to all of us. My mom especially always got a big smile when he was around.
Him playing the piano during our holiday celebrations was like going to a concert hall. He would make you laugh, smile and shake your head.
I will miss you Bobby.
