Family and friends mourn the loss of a true gentleman, Robert "Skip" Alexander Walker, who passed away at home in Novato, California on January 19, 2026. Skip was born in San Francisco on July 20, 1945, where he lived until moving to San Rafael. Skip married his wife of 46 years, Zoe in 1972, and they later raised their children in Marin County until 1994 when they returned to San Francisco.
Skip attended San Rafael High School and College of Marin. After serving in the National Guard, Skip worked in and eventually ran the family construction company started by his grandfather Leonard Salomon. After concluding his career as a contractor, he worked as a well-respected construction consultant. Skip was an avid golfer, San Francisco Giants and 49er fan, and an enthusiastic fisherman but was best known as an incredibly kind, compassionate, and intelligent man.
Skip is predeceased by his loving wife Zoena Ligonis Walker. Skip is survived by his children Leslie Zoena Walker and Robert "Rob" Alexander Walker III. He is also survived by Leslie and Rob's families, Leslie's husband Kelly Cashion Calkin and daughter Alexandra Zoe Calkin and Rob's sons Harrison, Hugh Maxwell, and Hawkins Mirakai Fox Walker. A celebration of life will be held on Monday, January 26, 2026, 12:30 pm at the Nativity of Christ Greek Orthodox Church at 1110 Highland Drive, Novato.
