Robert Werner

Robert Charles Werner July 29, 1929 - August 29, 2010 Robert died peacefully with his wife of 59 years Gwendolyn at his side. Bob, son of Al & Anita Werner, was born in San Francisco. Bob moved to the Peninsula at an early age and has been a San Carlos resident for 54 years. He is survived by his wife and four children, Sherie Werner and Brad Higgins of Ophir; Jeff Werner of Redwood City; Marte and Karen Werner and grandchildren, Allison & Haley, of Belmont; Chris and Rachel Werner and grandchildren, Bryan & Amanda, of Calabasas; his sister Carol Baender of Sunnyvale; and his aunts Claire Posson of Healdsburg and Madeline Sturm of San Francisco. Bob graduated from Sequoia High School and then UC Berkeley in 1951, where he started dating Gwen. Bob served in the Coast Guard before spending many years in sales at California Printing in San Francisco. Golf was Bob's passion, 2nd only to his family. He was a member of Lake Merced Country Club and most recently an active member of the Palo Alto Senior Men's Golf Club. Services will be private.
