Rodrigo Ernesto Leiva

Rodrigo Ernesto Leiva Known as "Ernie" to family and friends, passed away at his home in Rocklin, CA, on July 26, 2007 at the age of 78 years. Ernie was born in El Salvador on March 13, 1929. He came to the USA at age 16. He graduated from Mission High School in San Francisco, CA. He served in the U.S. Army as a master sergeant during the Korean War. He completed numerous college courses while working for 30 years as a stationery engineer through Local #39. He worked for various hospitals in the SF Bay Area. He retired as chief engineer from Kaiser in 1992. Ernie and his wife, Vilma first retired to Reno, NV, and then later moved to Rocklin, CA. Ernie is survived by two sons, Jim Leiva of Carmichael, CA, and Mike Leiva of Marysville, CA; one daughter, Lori Leiva and son-in-law, Bob Jungbluth of Orinda, CA. Ernie was the loving grandfather of Lauren and J.R. Leiva, Benjamin and Julia Jungbluth. He is also survived by two brothers, Rene Granados and Joseph Granados, and one sister, Martha Edney. There will be a Mass held at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 4450 Granite Dr., Rocklin, CA, on Saturday, August 4, 2007 at 10:30 am.
