I am so sorry to hear about the loss of Roger. I never got to know him yet enjoyed the few times I met him at various gatherings for SFSU related functions. I've known Rene for the 14 yrs I've been at SF State and will always admire and respect her and her family. Sad to learn of Roger's passing. As someone who sails also, I'm happy to know, however, that based on the obit, "Rogers ashes will be scattered in San Francisco Bay, where he spent decades sailing." - Rest in Peace, Roger! With sympathy, Nina Roberts

Losing a loved one is never easy, but our loving God promises to give the strength and courage you'll need to endure, and to cope with the pain of your loss. He also promises to hold your hand every step of the way. (Isaiah 40:29, 41:10, 13) May loving memories also sustain your family during this difficult time. Ann Smith

I remember Roger Dahl from working together at Willard Swim Center on Telegraph Avenue inn Berkeley, CA during the summer of 1964. He as the pool manager and I was one of the water safety instructors. One overlooked item when preparing for a swim festival was letting the fire department know we would be having a fire drill. They showed up ready to go into action.
Both of my grown kids were on swim teams in Sa Jose and my daughter has worked for Save the Bay and the California Coastal Conservancy as Restoration Director. Another thing I find that Roger and I have in common is that we were both in Korea at the same time. I worked with the American Red Cross Clubmobile Program at Headquarters I Corp in Uijambu and with 7th Division as well.
Please accept my sincere condolences. Roger was a true gentleman and a pleasure to know.
