Rose Silvestri Obituary

Rose Silvestri

On March 4, 2016 at the age of 100 years young we lost a very treasured member of our family. Rose was a native San Franciscan and a graduate of St. Paul's High School.
She and her late husband, Louis Silvestri were married for over 49 years. She was the adored mother of the late Carmel Barella and the beloved mother-in-law of Louis Barella. She is the beloved grandmother of Louis Barella, Lauren Chu (Alan) and Vincent Barella and the adored great-grandmother of David, Christina, Steven and Nicholas. Rose is survived by her sister Regina Irwin (Bill). Her sister Mary Ruggiero preceded her in death. She also leaves behind cherished nieces and nephews and a large extended Italian family that dearly loved her.
Rose was the matriarch of her family and throughout the years spent much of her time entertaining and welcoming family and friends into her home. Everyone was always welcome and guaranteed to enjoy a warm hug and a delicious meal.  Rose was known for her great wit and her positive outlook on life and people. Everyone was beautiful in her eyes and she always made those whom she loved feel cherished. She was also known for her exquisite sense of style evident in the beautiful stylish way she always dressed and her beautiful presentation of meals. Our entire family will forever miss her presence but she will never be forgotten.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Rose's incredible life and attend the Funeral liturgy on Monday, March 14th at 10:30 a.m. at the Chapels of Valente Marini Peralta & Co., 4840 Mission Street
