So sad to hear of Sally's passing. Knew something was wrong as I tried to send an email but it came back as did a letter sent to her old address. Sally and I knew each other when we were in our teens and twenties and used to travel to work in the train from Finaghy, Belfast. She was the one who suggested I move to South Africa where I have been very happy. Sally and I had lunch at the Europa Hotel in Belfast some years ago when I took my husband to meet my Irish family. David, I really feel for you as I lost my dear husband almost 3 years ago. Time heals a bit but a loved one will always be in your heart.

I have just found out via the Internet that Sally passed away! I am her niece - her brother's daughter living in South Africa. I have been sick with worry since not hearing from her from October of last year. I'm so privileged to have known her fiery spirit , sense of humour and love of life. We communicated regularly via email. Will miss you so much, Sadie.

Sally was my favorite redhead ever since I first met her met in 1981. She walked into the living room of my partner and me and I thought, "Who is this vivacious and beautiful women?" That first impression only deepened over the years. She loved life and lived it well with energy and spirit. I will miss her and her infectious laugh.
I extend my condolences to David, her family and all her friends.

Sadie, as she was known to me, was a true, dear friend as well as my cousin. When she came to visit, we always had plenty to talk about, we shared everything and usually ended up laughing or crying, whatever the occasion called for. It is so hard to accept that I'll never see her again, she had hoped to visit Ireland this year with her friend Marianne but sadly this will not happen now.
My whole family appreciate the love and attention David showed to Sadie throughout their relationship and right up to the end.
Rest in peace Sadie until we meet again.

Sally and I met in S.F. the fall of 1968. Our arrival in sunny CA was within 2 months of each other; she from Vancouver and I from PA. We became flatmates for a couple of years, travel companions, and very close friends. Most of all, Sally became to be my closest confidant and 'family'. I will miss her daily presence greatly for all her sparkling qualities but will equally cherish forever the privaledge of sharing 47 wonderful years which has so greatly enriched my life and memories.
Thank you Sally for being you!

Dearest Sally, my flat mate and friend since 1968. So full of life and sunshine and adventure, she brought colour to my life. She came to visit my family in Scotland and share her unique view of life. They all adored her.
Thank you for being such a loyal friend and for being you.
Knowing Sally was a privilege, she will be sorely missed.
My sympathy to David and all her friends.

"When Irish eyes are smiling, Sure it's like a morning spring.
In the lilt of Irish laughter You can hear the angels sing.
When Irish hearts are happy, All the world seems bright and gay.
And when Irish eyes are smiling, They'll steal your heart away!"
Sally stole our hearts & will be greatly missed! Hugs, Suzi❤

I met Sally in the early 70s and worked with her a while in the Pathology Dept. at CPMC. Thus began decades of a great friendship, all the while bouncing around San Francisco, checking out the latest and greatest restaurants and introducing friends, new and old. She seemed to know everyone and was the sparkle in every crowded room. I will dearly miss our catch-up phone calls and the wonderful stories she would tell. Rest in peace, my friend.

Sadie,as her family knew her in Ireland, was the most vivacious, friendly, gorgeous, compassionate person anyone could hope to meet. She was actually my mum's younger cousin but I considered her a close friend. She visited us when she could and was always the same Sadie. No matter how much time elapsed between visits we could always just pick up where we left of. Sadie never seemed to age a bit, always full of vitality, up for a laugh with a wonderful lust for life.
My husband and I managed to visit Sadie in the 80s where we had the most fantastic time. We had hoped to visit again but sadly now it is too late!
We will miss this lovely lady so much but will always remember her beautiful smile and infectious laugh.
You were taken from us too soon Sadie..rest in peace.
