Sandra McWaters Obituary
07/05/1953 - 09/10/2024
Sandra Ann (Campbell) McWaters, aged 71, passed away unexpectedly at her home in Brisbane, California, on September 10, 2024.
She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on July 5, 1953 to Thomas D. Campbell, MD and Beverly Ann (Steffes) Campbell.
She was raised in Traverse City, Michigan with her siblings and graduated from Traverse City Central High School in 1971. Sandy attended Northwestern Michigan College and Western Michigan University before moving to California with close friends in 1976.
She moved to San Francisco in 1978 where she met the love of her life, David S. McWaters. They married in March, 1989 and welcomed their daughter Mora Micaela McWaters in May, 1993.
Sandy poured her love and talents into her family. She enjoyed pottery, photography, gems, crystals, and rocks. Her passion was raising her daughter Mora with David. There were no bounds to her dedication and love for her family.
Sandy made many friends and many loved ones in her life. She believed she would encounter all of these souls in other lifetimes.
Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Beverly Campbell as well as David's parents, Charles and Nancy Lee McWaters, sister-in-law Linda Campbell, and nephew Robert Alexander Strehl.
Sandy is survived by her husband David and daughter Mora, as well as her kitty, Fiona. Also, by siblings Patty (Michael) Huff, Robert Campbell, Jan Price, Kathy (Bob) Strehl, special niece Sarah Jaquish in Oakland, CA, John (Michelle) Jaquish, Anna (Vicente) Serrano, Ryan (Ashley) Strehl, Laura Somerville Strehl, Katie (Jake) Buback and 11 great nieces and nephews.
Her family will see her laid to rest at Cypress Lawn Cemetery in Colma, California. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation in Sandy's honor to the Square Peg Foundation (PMB# 402, 80 Cabrillo Hwy N, Ste Q, Half Moon Bay, CA 94019).
