November 6, 1933 - February 4, 2024
Sebastiano Sebastiani, 90, of Redwood City, Calif., passed away peacefully Sunday afternoon, February 4, 2024. He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Loreta; daughter, Diana Sebastiani Hallesy (husband, Peter); son, Daniele Sebastiani (wife, Cindy); and daughter, Sophia Esterina Sebastiani; and his grandchildren, Andrew, Matthew, Nathan, Lauren, Alexander and Alana. As he passed and rose to heaven, the family saw a beautiful rainbow amongst the clouds. This was surely a sign of the joy Sebastiano experienced as he reunited with his parents and siblings who passed before him.
Sebastiano arrived in San Francisco from Ovindoli, Italy in 1946, traveling with his mother, Diana, and his siblings. The family joined their father, Antonio, in California after being apart for many years due to the war. Sebastiano attended Saints Peter and Paul School and Galileo High School. In late 1959, Sebastiano returned to Ovindoli where he married Loreta. Soon after returning to and settling in San Francisco, they started their family. Sebastiano also began his career at Cost Plus Imports, where he retired as a foreman after 33 years.
Sebastiano enjoyed working on projects around his home and for his friends. Those lucky enough to work with him learned many valuable skills. His love for woodworking, camping, fishing, bocce ball, and poker games created cherished memories for his family and friends.
A Rosary Vigil will be held for Sebastiano at 6 p.m., on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Duggan's Serra Mortuary, 500 Westlake Avenue, Daly City, Calif. 94104.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., on Monday, February 12, 2024 at Duggan's Serra Mortuary, followed by interment at 11:30 a.m., at the Italian Cemetery, 540 F. Street, Colma, Calif. 94104.
