Sergio Quilici Obituary
September 10, 1987 - April 2, 2023
Sergio Giomi Quilici kissed his wife of 29 days, Kayla Dawn Hayden, goodbye early morning April 2, 2023 and headed to work; he was detoured to Jesus instead. Kayla loves him with all of her heart. They wanted children and were looking forward to creating a family just like themselves: loved by family and friends.
He graced his parents, Noelle Ottoboni and Michael Quilici, with his presence the day he was born in September of 1987. He was such a good, sweet boy, and he grew into an even greater man. He was kind. He was generous. He was always at the ready to lend a hand. He was hysterically funny, even at the most inappropriate times. He was their beautiful boy.
"Vito," as his friends and family knew him, and his brother Dante were best friends connected at the soul. They communicated every day, all day, joking and discussing podcasts, movies, and their obsession of the day. Vito adored his brother's fiancée, Brianna Hutton, and considered her a sister and was truly joyful that his brother had chosen her to become a part of his family. He loved and respected his new in-laws, Doug and Gail Hayden, and Kayla's siblings Sean and Tara, and was looking forward to working with them in their family business.
He was a burrito aficionado, and he always ordered the best meal when the family-as Vito put it-"dined." He was a pioneer in libation consumption, drinking vieux carrés years before they were even popular. No detail went overlooked when he hosted his annual Prohibition Christmas Party. Besides his wife, family, and friends, music was Vito's greatest passion.
A dedicated, hard-working man, Vito enjoyed projects such as refurbishing furniture, gardening, and restoring his classic 1967 Camaro. He was so looking forward to watching the fruit trees he planted grow. We will enjoy the fruits of his love for years to come and remember him in every creative recipe we try.
In 2019 his family visited Medjugorje, Bosnia where the Blessed Virgin Mary gives messages to the world. In retrospect, he received a miracle. His life changed, and many good things came to him-Kayla, who shared his values, being the greatest gift of them all.
He will be survived and remembered by every note of Mayer Hawthorne's music and every Spotify playlist (but certainly not Pandora radio stations which are "the Myspace of music"). We will see him in every action hero, every movie rated over 7 on IMDB, every graphic novel, every "Saluté" and every red-meat-induced nightmare.
He went to St. Robert's in San Bruno, Junipero Serra High School, and graduated from UCLA. He loved God and his country. His family and friends are a reflection of who he was. He was amazing. He was love. And he was life.
Services will be held Tuesday April 11, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Robert's Catholic Church 1380 Crystal Springs Rd. San Bruno, California 94066.

I want to share my deepest condolences with your family; I cannot imagine the hurt you have gone through but I pray that you have been able to begin healing. God never leaves us and though we may not understand why certain things happen, we can rest knowing that nothing is outside of His Will.

I just heard the news, and my sincere sympathy to all his family and friends. I only knew Sergio as a patient of the dental practice I ran, but he made such an impact of his kind presence every time he came in for his appointments. May you rest in peace Sergio you will be so missed.

I haven't seen Sergio since our UCLA days, but I've always fondly remembered his wonderful personality and all the fun we had over the years. He was one of the most genuine, welcoming, cheerful, and entertaining people I met during college, and I remain appreciative of our friendship. Serg, you'll always be larger than life. I'm heartbroken for the ones who loved you most; for anyone who spent 5 minutes in a room with you; for myself who let the years go by.
Such a character. Such a friend. I'm so grateful for a post-grad era that found us posing as PR professionals together in LA, Vegas, Palm Springs, Berkeley... I'm so happy you came to my bachelor weekend knowing really no one, yet leaving as everyone's MVP.
Beyond blessed for the many heartfelt and hilarious memories. See you again friend.

Hello all, don´t really know what to say. Sergio and I were roommates at UCLA and I can´t even number the amount of good times we had together. He was a light in any room he entered. I remember teaching him to "box" for his frat rush and having him run through his material when trying to become the dagger man for a sorority. I hadn´t seen him in a while but I never stopped thinking about him. Wish I would have been able to check in with him one more time. RIP Serg... you will be greatly missed. I am so sorry for your family.

During a work trip to D.C. in May of 2022, I was relatively new to our team and found myself on an putt-putt foursome with Sergio and 2 other team members.
I had only connected with Sergio a few times prior and despite being new, Sergio was eager to ask me about myself, how I found out about the organization and joined, my background, etc.
We then we shifted our conversation to life living on the coasts, music, technology, the newly released Top Gun: Maverick + our favorite beers. It was a great way to meet a team member who shared similar interests and was kind.
We then actually began playing and Sergio ended up with the lowest score of our group. It was a great night and am thankful our paths crossed that summer evening.
I only worked with Sergio ~6 months and we only met in person that one time, but I am grateful for his selfless, kind soul who had a natural curiosity, endearing charisma, and will be greatly missed.
My thoughts are with Sergio's family, friends, and loved ones.
Rest in Peace, Sergio. You are missed.

I did not know Sergio for very long, we worked together at Regie.ai for 3-4 months. I just learned of this devastating news, my heart goes out to Kayla and his family. Sergio and I did not know each other for very long, we worked together for a period of 4-5 months. Sergio was a classmate of mine at CSM. We were in the same history class. He was one of the nicest people ever. That semester specifically- My car broke down and without missing a beat he was my ride to CSM until my car was fixed. That was just the kind of person he was - so kind and generous. I remember wanting to see the movie Coraline at the Metreon and no one wanted to go with me - he offered to joined me.
Although, we kept in touch via Facebook, Instagram, and Linkedin - I don't ever think we chatted much since CSM as he transferred to UCLA and I transferred off to Florida.
Recently, I was so happy to see via Instagram he got married and then I was so sadden to see of his passing.
I know he was a man of faith and God has called his child home.

I was touched by the beautiful obituary of Sergio's life. Two things are apparent to me; you were excellent parents that instilled Godly character and loyalty in Sergio and he in turn displayed those traits to all he met and touched. How do you pick one memory of Sergio. It´s impossible to pick one. Sergio was loved by all that knew him And especially by his Zia Gina. Watching Zia Gina interact with Sergio and Dante was priceless. I know she is taking care of him in heaven and reminiscing of all the things she, Sergio and Dante did together. Until we meet again.
