Shri Lahuram Jaiswal "Papaji"

Age 73, left this world peacefully on January 30th, 2015 surrounded by love. Papaji was a simple, selfless man with a compassionate heart. He had no love for materialistic things and was a content soul who used to find happiness in the simple things around him. He believed in forgiveness, helping others, charity, contentment, and inner peace. He was a great believer of "Atithi Devo Bhavah" which is a Sanskrit verse and simply means - "consider the guest as God".
Papaji was from Majarkhed near Amravati in Maharashtra India and was born on Dec. 4th, 1941. He received his diploma in Veterinary Science and later he joined the Veterinary Gov. Dept. in Maharashtra. After full service he retired from the department. In Nov. 2009 he came to the United States with his wife Mrs. Kanta Jaiswal and started staying with their youngest son Satyesh and daughter-in-law Puja in Fremont, California. Initially he was reluctant to come to the States because of fear of traveling long distance, but once they were here they started liking it. They formed close friendships with many seniors in the Mission area of Fremont and were active members of Fremont Senior Center.
He is survived by his loving and caring wife Mrs. Kanta Jaiswal "Kanhiya", as he affectionately called her, and his proud children: Sapna Jaiswal, Sandesh Jaiswal and Satyesh Jaiswal, also the caring and supportive spouses of his children and six bright grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Feb.11th, 2015 in the Fremont Hindu Temple at 3676 Delaware Drive, Fremont, CA 94538. Tehravin Pujan will start at 11:00 am and lunch will be served at 1:00 pm. It will be a day of tribute to our beloved dad Shri Lahuramji Jaiswal. Please come if you can and share your favorite memory.
