Thomas McLaren Obituary

Thomas L. McLaren

Born December 24, 1919 died Tuesday March 12, 2013. A graduate of UCB in 1942 he married Patricia Williams, his wife for 70 years. His children survive him: Ani, Tom, Libby, Robin, Loren; and grandchildren: Chuck, Georgia, Paul, Rebecca. They were all his treasures. Tom's public life included Dad's Club, School Bonds, PTA President, Boy Scouts, Youth League Baseball and performances with Bread and Roses. In the 1950's he helped place the Rehabilitation Center at Herrick Hospital. Active in the March of Dimes, Tom became state chairman in 1964. In 1969 he was elected to the Berkeley City Council. He retired as The Ass't to the President at UOP.


His dear friends await him with a banjo and a fly fishing rod.


A memorial service will be held on Saturday April 6th at 2:30pm at St. John's Church 1707 Gouldin Rd. Oakland, Ca. Donations can be made to The Hospital de la Familia PO Box 12981 Berkeley, Ca 94712

My experience with Tom was when he served as a Board member with Episcopal Senior Communities (then EHF).
There was no sweeter more delightful man ever. We send our condolences to his family
