Thomas O'Connell Obituary

Thomas O'Connell Sr. passed away on Thanksgiving night, November 23rd, at the age of 86.
Proudly born into a family of Irish immigrants in San Francisco, CA. Tom is preceded in death by his parents Margaret and Michael O'Connell, siblings Kathleen, Emmett, Dennis and Gerald, and grandson Garrett.
Tom is survived by his wife of 60 years Marilyn (Nevers), his sister Irene DeMaria. Tom was a loving and devoted father to his 6 children: Kevin (Katie), Tom Jr. (Anne), Kathleen Darnell (Brian), Steve (Elise), Mary Ripley (John), Theresa Lee (Brian) and his 15 grandchildren.
Tom graduated from Riordan High School and San Francisco State University. He had an acumen for finances which served him well in his 25 years at Crocker Bank.
Tom's strong faith in God was a pillar in his life. He was also quick with a pun or a story and made an impression on everyone he met. Tom was an avid reader of the obituaries and is beaming from Heaven now that his turn in print has finally come.
A memorial service to celebrate Tom's life will be held on Friday, December 15, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bonaventure's Church in Concord, CA.

I will always remember Tom´s blessing as he presided at the garden wedding of BJ´s dogs. When this lovely reception is over everyone stroll to the street curb and await the bus that will take all of us to the Funny Farm
