Tony Atlas Obituary

Tony Atlas December 27, 1945 - April 25, 2009 Beloved husband of Jana Atlas; loving father of Michael, Ashton and Derek; devoted son of the late Hilda and Ernest Atlas; brother of Martha Tracconi; son-in-law of Jeanne and the late Ed Tomasello and nephew of Selma Perlman in Santiago Chile. "Tonyman" lived a large life filled with family, friends, travel, laughter, passion, good living and great times. Born in Bolivia he attended Boise State and served in the US Air Force. A top achiever and amazing salesman he was well respected in the copier industry. His thirst for knowledge, love of history and obsession with fitness was unquenchable. He fought to "Livestrong" and inspired all with his "refuse to fail" attitude, vibrant character, one of a kind personality and heart of gold. A Celebration of his Life will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at 2:00pm at Crystal Springs Golf Course, 6650 Golf Course Drive, Burlingame. Our family is eternally grateful to the UCSF Medical Center Liver Oncology and Spine Center teams and asks that donations be made in his memory to: UCSF Spine or Cancer Center at 400 Parnassus Avenue, San Francisco, Ca. 94122

We worked together at OMI of California. I'll always remember his strong character and how hard he worked.
He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. I'll always remember his passion for life, he truly enjoyed life. He was the hardest working salesman in the company, "the best".
What a personality! When he walked into the room everyone smiled. He was a good man.

My memories of Tony, were of a man of huge stature, physically and emotionally. I was awestruck by Tony's presence, admiring him and wishing I could someday be the man he was. And today his message rings clear to me, that to be like him it takes time and hard work. I am grateful for this lesson, as it is one I will carry with me throughout my life. Another lesson I learned from Tony was it was all about his family. Beyond being a man of immeasurable character, Tony was a dedicated husband and father. His strength and positivity during times of adversity will forever inspire me.
