I have retired from Riordan HS and taught about Tyrone for the last time in May. I got to mention his "Never Give Up" in my commencement speech and I will never forget this very important person in my life. Tyrone's spirit lives on with all of the Frosh Skills students I have taught and anyone who knew him. Love to Tyrone and his family. xo

In the fall during Homecoming, Tyrone's #34 football jersey will be officially retired. It is now framed, and will be displayed in the locker room.

There is a name/seat plaque, front and center, in the first row of the Lindland Theatre at Archbishop Riordan High School that says "Tyrone L. McGraw '06...Never Give Up". In my Frosh Skills class I have a Pay It Forward unit and an entire class session is dedicated to teaching 9th graders about Tyrone. I talk about being his teacher/friend, I show them his Maxx Preps stats, I give them a handout with an article about Tyrone and show them his eloquent, humble and moving 2016 graduation speech. I tell them that in all my 30 years of teaching Tyrone is the ONLY student I have ever taught that I think could have run for President of the United States. Then I pass an envelope and allow them to experience the feeling of paying it forward by donating their own money to the Tyrone L. McGraw Scholarship. To date, my students have donated close to $300 to the fund and, as long as I teach the class, we will continue to pay it forward to the wonderful memory of Tyrone Leon McGraw. Rest in peace, wonderful man, and know that you are still inspiring us. xo

What a beautiful life. I was so saddened to hear of his death, but so inspired to know of all he accomplished, and the way he lived, during his time on earth.
