Vera Burns Obituary
Vera was born in Canada on May 8, 1938, to Theresa Voght Walker and George James Walker. She was a loving sister to Kathleen, John, George, James, Valentine, Margie, and Kathleen.
She attended Kelowna Secondary School in Kelowna, British Columbia before emigrating to the United States where she worked as a secretary in San Francisco. She loved sewing and art, and studied sculpture and textiles at San Francisco State University in addition to spending countless hours at art museums.
She adored her many friends; was a proud member of the San Francisco chapter of the Canadian Women's Club and the Coldwater Indian Band of Merritt, British Columbia; and enjoyed traveling the world with her husband.
Vigil and services will be held at St Cecilia's Church, 2555 17th Ave., SF on Saturday, March 3, starting with a viewing at 12:00 PM (Mass at 1:00 PM) with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery to follow.

Vera was a member of the Canadian Women's Club since 2000. Her company was enjoyed by many of the members and she will be missed.

Such a loss of a lovely woman. I met Vera when our children were at St. Cecilia's. She and I enjoyed learning of each others passion for sewing. Often I would see her on West Portal and it was always a pleasant visit. RIP, Vera.
