Victoria Chiofalo Obituary

Victoria Chiofalo
June 24, 1936 - February 9, 2023
Victoria Seepol Chiofalo (Vicky) passed away peacefully, at the age of 86, after a brief illness surrounded by family on February 09, 2023 in Richmond.
Beloved wife of Roberto Chiofalo, Sr, they celebrated their 63-year anniversary last November with their family. Daughter of the late Oscar and Tatiana Seepol , beloved sister of Helen Meadows, aunt to Richard & Paul Meadows as well as Julie Burson; Loving and caring mother of Cristina Prokop, the late Laura Chiofalo, Claudia Miller and Roberto Chiofalo Jr. Beloved mother-in-law of Anthony Miller and Stephen Prokop. Fun-loving grandmother of Jessica River Lombardi, Nicholas Miller, Joel Miller, Lauren Miller, Devin Chiofalo and Roberto Chiofalo III ; Great-grandmother (better known as GG) of Jacob & Kristofer Curtis, Destiny Garino and James Miller
Internationally diverse, Vicky was born in Bombay (Mumbai), India and raised in Shanghai China during WWII and post-war Argentina which is where she met Roberto. They immigrated to San Francisco, CA in 1963 with their four children (her father had set residency in SF). With her travels, she became a great historian with stories from WW II to present.
Vicky was a passionate artist whose interest in painting was inspired by her father (a photographer) from early childhood. Vicky began coloring her father's black and white photos as color was not yet introduced in photography. First art classes as a teenager were in Mendoza Argentina at Escuela de Bella Artes. Later on, she was encouraged by her husband to take Art Classes following her retirement from UCSF.
An avid gardener, she was passionate about flowers and landscape. Her garden was her haven providing her hours of meditative pleasure. She loved taking pictures and transforming them into paintings. Vicky's Professional story about her art can be found at www.victoriaart.com
An eclectic individual, she was also an actress whose career was cut short by the birth of her firstborn Cristina. She had a leading role in "El Mar Amor" (available in YouTube). Prioritizing her roles, she dropped acting to become a full-time mother. A wonderful companion who thrived on accompanying her husband and children from errands to trotting the globe she delighted in new adventures. Vicky was multilingual and spoke English, Spanish and Russian fluently, she could also get by in German and French.
Her kindness and generosity were virtues admired by friends and family alike. A wonderful teacher whose path will be hard to follow, she is missed by all.
Distribution of her ashes will be held at a small private family service. A "Virtual Celebration of Life" gathering will be held on June 25th, 2023, 2:00 PM -4:00 PM Pacific Time to honor her memory. Please RSVP to [email protected], no later than June 15th to obtain Zoom's Meeting ID and password in participation for her memorial.

Christina brought her mother Victoria to visit us several years ago at our small ranch outside Rogue River Oregon. As always she lit up our home with her marvelous smile, energetic personality and charm. We talked art and life, showing her how big our Koi fish had grown
since her last visit. Her paintings will carry her love of nature, form, color and beauty into the future for so many to enjoy. She was an amazing lady and will be greatly missed by us and others who truly loved her. God keep her. Jerry and Melanie

Tia Vicky was such a warm, beautiful, and loving person. I remember spending summers traveling to San Francisco to visit Tia Vicky and Tio Roberto. When we arrived, the house would always have the smell of something being freshly cooked in the oven, and Tata, Abuella, Laura, Claudia, and Bobby, (and Cristina and Jessica when they were in town) would always be waiting for our arrival. It was always so exciting to see them, and they always opened their hearts and home to everyone. As we grew older the visits were less frequent, but the love always grew. I will never forget visiting her with my new family after many years of not seeing each other. It was like no time had passed, and the love my family felt was as if we lived next door to each other. We always loved touring her home to see her latest "masterpieces". Roses and tulips will always bring me wonderful memories of Tia Vicky. It is also a little-known fact that she and Tio Roberto are my godparents, something I will always cherish. I love you, Tia Vicky. Rest in peace, and continue to look over Tio Roberto and the rest of us.

I'm so sorry for your heartfelt loss. Though I had not seen Vicki for a number of year's, somehow I always managed through Cris to find out how she was. I have many memories of her throughout different parts of my life.

She was treasured by her family, Cristina's love for her Mom was unsermountable.

Though we may not physically see someone, you can never change the memories they have woven into your soul.

Vicky's beauty was brought to light through her art, but she had many passions, art was only one of them..

Losing someone you love so much is not something I can articulate into simple words, I do know you carry their imprint forever.

To all of the family, my heart and love goes out to each and every one of you.

With much love,

Lisa R.Dagovitz

Victoria was a very important person throughout many phases of my life. I will never forget her courage, strength, positivity, humor, and compassion for all things beautiful in nature and her loyalty to family. An exceptional being who did not live a particularly easy life, she inspired the rest of us ..I miss her dearly, but grateful to know she is peacefully and painlessly at rest..Thank you, Vicky...With great love, Jane (Cris's mischievous friend)

Tia Vicky's exquisite floral artwork is splashed throughout our home and her Tulip portrait has been the centerpiece of our living room for 22 years. I have the fondest memories traveling to San Francisco from Gardnerville to visit our Chiofalo family. Tia Vicky's home was an exotic display of art that filled every crevice of the home and I used to get lost in colors and images of the paintings. I distinctly remember her art room, the smell of acrylic and a half completed paining that was one of her many floral pieces. She was an exotic, creative and beautiful tia and will be missed tremendously. It's been a sad space in our house since Tia Vicky has passed, my mom Helen misses her daily phone conversations with her sister. Rest in peace Tia Vicky, you are forever in our hearts.

What an absolutely beautiful tribute to Tia Vicky! Her Tulip painting remains a centerpiece of our home, the heart of our living room for the past 22 years. The rest of our house is adorned with flowers of her love, from irises to roses, each room displays the beauty of her work. I will always treasure how excited i used to get to visit her, Tio Roberto and the cousins in San Francisco. The home was enchanting and exotic. Walls were filled from top to bottom with art and I would get lost in the magic of the images. I was fascinated the painting room and distinctly remember her describing how images came to life on canvas. Mom misses her tremendously, the two sisters talked on the phone every day since I can remember.
Rest in peace Tia Vicky.
