Vincent Barr Obituary

Vincent Joseph Barr Sr.
09/25/1950 - 08/26/2025
Vincent Joseph Barr Sr., born September 25, 1950, San Francisco, CA. to Marie K. and James Robert Barr Sr. His life's journey ended on August 26, 2025, in San Bruno, Ca. at the age of 74.
He was predeceased by his mother Marie, father James Sr., Dee (stepmom) and Winnie (stepmom), sister Maureen, brothers Larry, Jim Jr., Richard & grandson, Lance Joseph Barr. He graduated from South City High School, and while attending school, he began to work as a driver and warehouseman for De Alba Brothers Tile Co. and sold shoes for Kinney on nights and weekends.
Eventually he was able to get into the union as a tile finisher, and he worked his way up to a setter, working for De Alba Brothers. He took a five-year break and decided to work as a general contractor, where he flourished as a carpenter. During this time, he met and married the love of his life, Lucarda (Lu) in 1977 and together they formed a beautiful life and worked hard to buy a home in San Bruno. His talent as a carpenter was evident with the beautiful addition and remodeling of their home. They have three wonderful sons, Vincent J. Barr Jr. (from an earlier marriage), Nicholas and Matthew, all of whom he couldn't be more proud. He later returned to De Alba Brothers tile and eventually was offered a partnership until his retirement in 2013.
Besides the love of family, he loved NASCAR, he enjoyed our many trips to Shasta and loved our weekends at the Delta house. He loved fishing. He was an avid 49ers, SF Giants, and Warriors fan, and loved to cook, barbeque, and bake.
He is survived by wife, Lu, sons, Vincent J. Barr Jr. (Megan), Nicholas (Lisa) and Matthew (Alicia), grandsons, Braxton, Ford and Donovan Barr, sister, Margaret, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5:00PM – 8:00PM with the Rosary at 6:30PM on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at Duggan's Serra Mortuary, 500 Westlake Ave., Daly City. Our heartfelt thoughts, condolences and prayers go out to the Barr Family in these horrible hours. Vince will be missed and his passing of a life cut too short. Lu we are thinking about you every hour hoping that you are coping during this most dificult time of your life. Your boys will help you through these tough times and no doubt your grandchildren will bathe you in love and since they are boys, they will always need you. every time i think of Vince, i remember a story where once at a restaurant, Matt went to shake the mustard without checking the top and showered his dad in mustard. I'm sure it wasn't funny at the time, but having boys myself, and knowing how careless they can be, I cant help but laugh at it. a good memory for sure.
God Bless and Godspeed until you all meet up again.
