I was just told about the passing of Buzz. My deepest consolences to
you, Greg, your family and other family members. Buzz and Lorraine are truly some of the nicest people I have ever had the honor of knowing. My prayers are with you, Greg, Jill, and your family. God bless.

My fondest memories of Uncle Buzz are when he showed up at my little league baseball games. He was always a calming presence standing just beyond the 3rd base line. He would quietly root me on. Before one game when I was 10, my manager came up to me and handed me a ball and told me to warm-up in the bullpen. This was going to be my first little league pitching debut and I was starting. I was really nervous. Uncle Buzz came up to me while I was warming up and told me I looked good and whatever happens was ok. He said, “It’s just like playing Wiffleball in the yard with Greg.” He was right. I took the mound and pitched 5 stellar innings. I still have that game ball on my shelf. After, I graduated Stanford and worked my way up through the Minor leagues, Buzz made it to most of my games. Once I got the nod to play in the show, Buzz was the first call I made. I played with the Angels most of the 1996 season, but never got the opportunity to step in. Buzz made it down for a few games and we would go to Disneyland. He loved the Blue Bayou restaurant near the Pirates of Caribbean. He would always tell me this kitchen also served the Walt Disney’s Exclusive “Club 33”. Buzz always seemed to know the good restaurants.
Love ya Buzz! Tell Loraine that Noelle still can’t make zucchini patties like hers.

I remember Buzz visiting me when he was on leave from the Air Force. He and Jimmy Rohner would come by and I would make them cake. I appreciated his visits and so did my family. I always thought it was very thoughtful of him to come visit especially because he came all the way from Burlingame to San Rafael.
