William Bacon Obituary

William Bacon
12/13/1959 -
Will Bacon
On June 9, 2024, following a long illness, William Walton Bacon of Belmont died, surrounded by loving family.
Born in San Mateo, California, Dec 13, 1959, the sixth of eight children of John and Lynn Bacon, Will was a longtime resident of Atherton and Belmont.
Will was a talented craftsman, a dedicated fisherman, a storyteller and a collector of esoteric objects. He was a loving and generous man who will be painfully missed by all who knew him.
Will was a dog person. The little kids always knew it was Uncle Willie who was making the bird noises.
Will liked High School so much, he went to as many as possible, ultimately graduating with honors from his father's alma mater, the Army Navy Academy in Carlsbad, California.
For many years Will was an employee of family businesses South City Lumber, and Economy Lumber, Oakland.
Will is survived by his son, William, Jr., his mother Lynn, six siblings, sisters Leslie Bacon and Susan McComas, brothers John, Grant, Tom, Peter Bacon, and thirty nieces and nephews, all by whom he was dearly loved. Will's father John, and brother Scott predeceased him.

Im so sorry. I just happened to see this memorial for Will. I knew him from the Building Dept in Mateo County, and other mutual friends. He was a great liste ner, and very easy to talk to about anything. He came to my daughters 5th birthday party & gave her a black Stetson cowboy hat. She wore it for years ^while riding our horses. I still have the hat today & she is now 41.

You will be missed my friend. Since our days at Hillview I always knew you could be relied on any time a friend was in need. Our lives took very divergent paths and we´ve been distant but I always considered you a dear and loyal friend. I wish you eternal peace.

Mrs Bacon, I'm sure u have had ur share of grieving but nothing compares to grieving for a child no matter the age. I'm so so sorry u have to go through such sadness. It has to be very difficult for u.
Willie, I'm am so sorry for ur loss. Fathers are so much more than just a father he is ur
Father, friend, mentor, guidance counselor, financial advisor. Ur disciplinarian. Everyone needs someone who will tell u when u act a fool. And do it with love and humor, ur dad was good at it telling me to straighten up. Be strong for those around u. Ur the man of the house now. Just do what ur Dad or grand dad would do, and u will always succeed in life. We will keep both ur grandmother and u and the rest of the family in our prayers. I want u to know that ur dad was loved by so many. Something I'm sure u already knew.
