William Eng Obituary

ENG, William Fun Koon - Passed away March 29, 2005 in Oakland, CA, at the age of 68. Loving husband of 44 years to Eleanor C. Eng; father to sons, Steven (wife, Teresa) and Jeffrey (wife, Vivian); grandfather to Natalie, Jessica and Julianna; and brother to Johnny, Betty and the late Philip Eng. William was born in the Canton province of China in 1936. He immigrated to the USA in 1947 and later settled down in the S.F. Bay Area. He worked loyally at Hoy Chang & Co. for 40 years. In his later years, he served the Chinese community in various positions, including president and elder of the S.F. Eng Family Association and vice president of the Hoy-Sun Ning Yung Association and the Hip Sing Association. William will be remembered as a devoted and loving family man. He will also be known as a trusted friend to many with a passion for helping others. He enjoyed social gatherings with family and friends and lifted spirits with his laughter, charm, wit and sense of humor. He will be missed dearly by us all. Family and friends are invited to attend the Wake, Sat, April 9, 5-6PM at the Green Street Mortuary, 649 Green St, SF; followed by the Funeral Service, Sun, April 10, 10-11AM, also at Green Street Mortuary.
