Born in San Francisco on April 8, 1955, William, Bill to family, Travis to most, unexpectedly passed away Sunday, June 16, 2013 at 58 years young. He leaves behind his two children, Dustin and Samantha, his mother, Audrey, brothers Monte and Bob, and many friends that were family to him. Travis was preceded in death by his father, James, younger sister, Mary, sister-in-law, Jane, and favorite grand-aunt, Carlene. Travis grew up in San Francisco, attended UC Berkeley and spent his working days as a General Contractor. He dedicated his life to playing rugby, sailing the bay, family, and friends. Everyone will miss the laughter and love Travis infused into their lives but will cherish the many wonderful memories that remain.
There will be a celebration of his well lived life on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at 3:00pm at the Richmond Yacht Club, 351 Brickyard Cove Road, Richmond, CA 94801. Please join the family in remembering a wonderful and unconditionally loving son, brother, father, and friend; gone all too soon, never to be forgotten.

Travis, you are missed, and the one HOB whose company is preferred over other ringleaders. Stay by the pitch and we'll see you soon.

Hey, Travis, by now youve got the better part of the Hastings Rugby Football Club Charter members with you in heaven. Youre still very much missed by so many and are always fondly remembered at our HOBS gatherings. You wouldnt believe the stuff going on today with the often fatal COVID-19 virus that currently prevents rugby teams from taking the pitch for a rugby match in favor of social distancing and wearing face masks. As much as I miss you, Im glad you arent here to experience this life episode.
Keep singing, laughing and watching over your family! Hugs, Big Guy!

Well, Trav, this is #62 today! You would be so proud of your family -- everyone is doing their part to carry on the Travis name, creatively and successfully. And having FUN in the process - always an important factor.
We miss the hell out of you -- but we know you're keeping a close eye on your loved ones.
*How about that little grandson Ryder?! Quite the Travis extension!!!
Love you, Big Guy!
-Always,
-Jeanne xoxo

Fond memories of teaching you to ride a 2 wheeled bike came back to me, 'Baby Bill', after learning of the death of your mom yesterday. Childhood memories playing football with your dad, of your mom gardening and of you tagging along with Monte and me (Janis) are wonderful memories. I miss having your family as next door neighbors. You were my second family.

Today is a hard one for me Daddy. No day is easy with out you but today I am overwhelmed by the fact that Ryder will never meet the most amazing man I will ever know. Most days I do a good job of keeping the sadness away but I lost the battle to the tears today. I'm playing rugby again and will miss my post-game phone calls on Saturday afternoons and the early Sunday morning wake-up calls when you know I was out with the team the night before. I miss you so much it makes my head spin. Ryder has your goofy smile and love to make fart noises... you would have loved him. I love you

Dad- I miss you so much. Thank you for everything you gave me and everything you taught me. I try my best but I am lost without you. I cant believe its been over a year since you passed. It does not get any easier to accept that you are gone. You have a grandson now and he looks so much like you. You would love him. I wish I had hugged you and told you how proud I am to be your son while I could. I love you dad and I'll miss you forever.

I remember Bill making his own El Toro sailboat by hand as a young teenager in or our SF neighborhood(Lakeshore). He could build anything even as a kid. He would also take us younger kids to Daly City in his mom's Buick to buy fireworks. A fine guy from a fine family...

He spent his life on the rugby pitch
And sailing his back yard
And making friends everywhere he went
And always the "Life of the Pard"!
He left us far too soon, its true
While spring was in the air
And though we're sad we can be proud
To have known a man so rare
But he's on peaceful waters now
A better Place to be
One hand on the starboard rail
He's sailing on Heaven's Sea

Travis, Travis, Travis. In the scrum, on a boat, always there, always competing, always giving, helped start me in business, twice. Save a spot in the big one. With you Samantha and Dustin.

I feel really lucky to have been considered one of 'daughters', as well as having him coach me on the rugby pitch (Alameda Rugby Club - Riptide, first year!). I'll never forget his sense of humor, his undying faith in other people, and the one-of-a-kind energy that he brought into a room. No one heckled a ref quite like he did! We miss you all the time, Dad!

I was so saddened by the news of Bill's passing. I last saw him during the holidays in 2009 when I spent Christmas Day with my cousins and the Travis Family. I had some enlightening conversations with Trav and he always filled the room with laughter. On the sea he was the master of the sails. On the field he was a bull in the scrum (at least that's what he told me). He had a zest for life and he'll never be an afterthought in our memories.

I was saddened to learn of Bill's passing. I was his classmate at Aptos Junior High, Lowell High School and U.C. Berkeley. I was captivated by his wit, his smile and his laughter. He was a pleasure. My deepest condolences to his family and friends.

I just happened to be in San Francisco when the death notice appeared. I am so sad to hear of Bill's passing. I knew him at Lakeshore School, Aptos Jr. High and Lowell and always enjoyed being in his company. I hope that his memory will be a blessing for his family.
