Z. Goldenberg Obituary
June 19, 1930 - October 26, 2023
Z. S."Goldy" Goldenberg Born 06/19/1930 in San Francisco California son of Fran and Zado Goldenberg. He attended Lowell high School and San Francisco City College. He worked for the family business for many years prior to owning Goldy's Brown Bag Storage and Potrero Shipping Service in San Francisco. Goldy was always one to look for humor in things and always provided sage advice like, "Watch out for the water buffalo." He passed away on Thursday October 26th at 820 AM in Sata Fe New Mexico due to old age and complications of COVID. He survived the passing of his loving wife Claudia "Happy" Goldenberg several years ago and is survived by his Sons Ken and Warren Goldenberg, his granddaughters Maya and Bex Goldenberg and his Daughter-in-laws Ana Le Blanc and Jo-Ann Goldenberg. A brief reception will be held Thursday November 9th 1130 AM at Rivera Funeral Home and Burial at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1230 PM.

I am writing in behalf of my father Bill Zarubin who grew up on Potrero Hill and was the same age as Goldy. Every year Goldy sent a card and letter to my dad.

I am very sorry for the loss of your dad. He was great! Always had a great joke and a smile on his face. He was a true American. The neighborhood was never the same when he left Westlake...May he rest in peace.

Always enjoyed chatting with Mr. Goldenberg here on Cliff Palace. Cane in hand, suspenders and bomber jacket, always ready with a dog treat for our dogs. RIP
