Anthony Ponce

Anthony was a caring and loving husband to his wife for 40 yrs and a good father to his son Anthony Jr. At age 17, Anthony enlisted in the US Army. In April 1983, he joined the LA County Sheriff's Department where retired in April 2015 after 32 yrs of service. During his years he played for his family's softball team "The Mean Machine " where his dad coached. Anthony was very athletic and participated in several events including the Baker to Vegas run and also boxed in the Police Olympics representing the Sheriff's Department. Anthony was also a volunteer in the community coaching the Covina Colts to a district championship. After his retirement he spent most of his time at Luminate Church providing security and dedicated most of his time to the church. Anthony was also an avid fisherman and loved to spend time at June Lake and the surrounding lakes with his family. He was a mentor and role model to all with a kind heart and a passion for his family - where he always said "family first". Anthony is preceded in death by his mother Helen, father David, brother Albert and his brother in-laws Bob & Ray. He is survived by his siblings David Jr, Alfred, Manuel, Diana, Debra, Patricia, Evelyn, Melissa, Frank, Vanessa and several of his nephews and nieces. The lord is getting a good man.
