Antonio Arriaga Obituary

ARRIAGA-Antonio Arriaga, passed away on Thursday, ctober 16, 2008. Antonio was born on December 27, 1948 in his family's Baldwin Park home. He currently resided in Covina, CA and prior to that Azusa. He was pre-deceased by his mother Betty Miranda-Zambrano and sister Josie Ramos-Moron. Antonio is survived by his wife Sharon Arriaga, daughters Leticia Gaviola and Lisa Escobedo, son Jeffrey Prado, sisters Lupe Miranda and Maria Reynoso, and brothe r David Lopez. He is survived by grandchildren Jeremy Sackett, Maureen Salcido, Ethan Prado, and Kaya and Elijah Gaviola. Antonio graduated from Baldwin Park High School in 1968, where he was drafted to the Cleveland Indians baseball team. However, he chose to raise a family and serve his country. Antonio was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the Vietnam War. He cherished his friends and supporters from the Veteran's Association. Antonio was a repairman for Montgomery Wards and Maytag, and coul d find anywhere in one of his Thomas Guides! Some of his prized possessions included his '57 Chevy, collection of coins and pins, Craftsman tools, and good quality caps. He loved westerns and his favorite movies was The Old Man and the Sea, his favorite song "You're the Reason God Made Oklahoma". Antonio's favorite times were among family and friends in his garage drinking a "Buddy Hayes", poker parties, and houseboat and Stateline trips. We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Sanjay Kehedia , and to all of Tony's healthcare professionals. A memorial service will be held at 572 E. Tudor St. in Covina on October 25th, with a dedication ceremony at 3:00 p.m. Antonio will best be remembered for his love and generosity as a husband, father and friend. As Tony would ay goodbye to us all..."Long Beach"...
