Arden Brame Obituary

BRAME-Arden Howell Brame, Jr., II, passed away peacefully August 19, 2004 at the age of 70. Born March 19, 1943 in Beverly Hills, son of Arden Howe and Marguerite Lucile (Adams) Brame, Sr. Beloved husband of the late Patricia (Verret) Brame, he was a renowned herpetologist, naturalist and genealogist. Arden attended Beverly Hills High and earned BA and MS degrees at USC. He served active duty in the army and reserves. He th en supervised Eaton Canyon Nature Center in Pasadena, and was a member and leader of many nature societies. Arden was one of the world's top authorities on salamanders, describing many new species in scientific journals. Arden found his passion in genealogy in 1973 while researching his own roots, and discovered a half brother with his same name! He published more than 18 research papers, and belonged to more than 40 hereditary and patriotic societies, serving as genealogist for many. Arden is survived b y brother John Brame of Jacksonville, FL., half-brother Arden H. Brame, Jr., I, of Monument, CO, niece Christine Brame of Radford, VA, nephew Rod Brame of Sterling, VA, three stepchildren Allan (Bud) Reinholtz of Upland, Kirk Reinholtz of La Crescenta, Nancy Arnold of Santa Fe, NM. Memorial services will be held at Eaton Canyon Nature Center, 1750 N. Altadena Dr., Pasadena 91107, on Sunday, Sept. 19, at 3:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sons of the Revolution Library, 600 S. C entral Av., Glendale 91204, or to Eaton Canyon Nature Center.
