Le Roy Bogart Obituary

BOGART-Le Roy James Van Bogart, (AKA Jim, Van, Bogie) Born June 23, 1919 in St. Paul, MN, passed away peacefully March 28, 2009 in Baldwin Park, CA. He had a passion for flying and served his country in the Army Air Corp in WWII, and the USAF during the Cold War and the Korean Conflict, receiving the Army Good Conduct Medal and the Presidential Unit Citation. Raised in MN, he moved to California in 1947 where he was an owner/operator in the trucking in dustry and eventually opened two dry cleaning businesses. He had a caring heart and helped many people in their time of need, never asking for anything in return. He now joins his beloved wife, Betty who preceded him in death. He is survived by 2 brothers, Richard and Jerome, sister-in-laws Edna, Billie, Mildred, and Margaret, numerous nieces and nephews, and friends to numerous to count. Loved by all, he will truly be missed. Viewing will be from 6:00pm to 8:30pm Wednesday April 1 at Rose Hills Memorial Pa rk. Services will be held Thursday morning at 9:00am April 2 in the Hillside Chapel at Rose Hills Memorial Park located at 3888 Workman Mill Rd, Whittier, CA Gate 17.

I will always remember Uncle Jim for his stories and his caring heart. Especially how he took care of others before himself. I know he now is with his long time love he missed her so I think of them both often.
