Memories and Condolences
for Alfred Goetz

Not sure what to say?

January 23, 2013

We send our prayers and hugs of Condolences to the friends and family of Mr. Goetz (still am not able to call him Al after all these years). Mr Goetz was more than just a teacher to me but also a mentor who saw in me more things than many of the other teachers and over the years at SFHS brought out the best in me. Some of the things he built into me run deep in me even today 40 years later. I apologize for this being so late. I am presently serving the Lord down here in Bogotá, Colombia SA.

January 7, 2013

My prayers are with the Goetz family as they mourne the loss of this outstanding teacher, coach and friend--and, of course, their father. He was a steady influence for all his students, as I imagine he was for his family. We were all lucky to have known him. He will long be remembered.

My very deepest sympathy to the Goetz family!

I feel so privileged to have care for Al! I feel we bonded the first time I walked into his room. Jokes, songs, and even a few dance moves seem to happen every time we were together. His smile melted my heart. He shared his wisdom and knowledge with me.
I called him, "MY Al Pal!" He always answered, "I sure am!"
Thanks for the memories! We will always have the memories!
Al will be sadly missed.

I was very saddened to learn of Al's (Mr. Goetz' as we would have said 50 years ago) passing. He was a very well repected influence around the Falls schools. We in the class of 1961 were delighted when he was able to join us for our 50th class reunion in September of 2011.

His popularity extended not only to the TEV Edelweiss Club here in the Denver area but also to Bayreuth, Germany from what I see.

I extend my sympathy to the entire Goetz family for their loss.

When I think back to my most influential teachers, those I respected, those with character and values, Mr. Al Goetz ranks high on the list. May God comfort the family in this time of loss.

January 2, 2013

Mr. Goetz was one of my favorite teachers during my 13 school years spent at Falls. He was a big guy (at least that's how a kid sees someone who is well respected!) with a big heart. How blessed to have a mentor with such outstanding character touch the lives of so many! God's blessings and comfort to all his family.
