Glen Mueller Obituary

Glen A. Mueller

Sheboygan - Glen A. Mueller, 80, passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 25, 2018 at Sheboygan Progressive Health Center where he was a rehab patient. Born September 14,1937 to Christ and Anna (Kabelowsky) Mueller, Sheboygan, Glen was a 1955 graduate of Central High School.

He was drafted in the U.S. Army where he served as a communications specialist in the Message Center under the Commander in Chief, United States Army, Europe Headquarters, Germany. He served his country admirably with great pride and was honorably discharged in November of 1962.

Upon his return home, H. C. Prange Co. offered him a job in the produce department where he soon met the love of his life, Karen Albertin. They were married June 24,1967. He continued his career at Wisconsin Public Service as a meter reader for many years and later as dispatcher until his retirement. It was a job he loved, being outdoors walking, while meeting people along the way.

Following in the footsteps of both parents, Glen was a long-time confirmed member at the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer and was an usher there for many years. Glen and Karen worked side by side volunteering in their retirement years with both the Sheboygan and Plymouth Chambers of Commerce, the Mead Public Library delivering books to the homebound, and Road America helping the medical staff each summer.

He was an avid amateur photographer whose work was enjoyed by many who enlisted his help in photo shoots. Glen played on a softball league, bowling league, and later golf league. From the Packers to the Badgers to the Brewers and the Bucks, he loved them all! He enjoyed gardening for many years sharing its bounties with friends and neighbors.

Predeceasing Glen are his parents, Christ and Anna Mueller and his beloved wife, Karen. Glen is survived by an older brother, Ronald, Stoughton, WI; his sister-in-law, Jane (Albertin) Melchior and her husband Tom of Shawano Lake, WI; a nephew, Ryan Melchior, and his boys John and David of Eden Prairie, MN; a niece Courtney (Melchior) Watry and her husband, Dave, along with their children Kyle, Derek, and Isabel Jane of Appleton, WI. Glen is also survived by numerous cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 21 at the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, 3027 Wilgus Ave., Sheboygan with visitation from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Bryan Osladil officiating. Glen will be entombed at the Garden Terrace Mausoleum at Lutheran Cemetery, Sheboygan. VFW Post 9156 will be providing full military honors.

The family is sincerely appreciative to Dr. Curtis Hancock and the entire rehab staff at Sheboygan Progress Health Center for their kind and compassionate care and his many wonderful and loving neighbors who watched over him and helped when needed in his final years. To honor his love for both reading and gardening, memorials may be directed to Bookworm Gardens, Sheboygan.
