Harold Goelzer
Plymouth - Harold L. Goelzer, age 92, of Plymouth, passed away on Tuesday afternoon (July 13, 2021) at Rocky Knoll Health Care Facility where he had been a resident for the past year.
He was born October 13, 1928 in Plymouth, WI, son of the late Arno and Delia (Klein) Goelzer.
He attended Spring Farm Grade School in the Town of Mitchell.
Harold served in the United States Army from 1951-1952 serving during the Korean War, and on May 21, 2017 he went on the Honor Flight with his daughter Nancy.
On July 5, 1951 he married Doreen M. Michaels at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Cascade. The couple has resided in the Town of Mitchell since their marriage. His wife preceded him in death on May 3, 2006.
Harold was employed at Pick Manufacturing Company (now known as Prafke Company) in West Bend, retiring in 1992. Harold enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his family.
Survivors Include: Eight children: Marie Goelzer of Plymouth, Robert Goelzer (special friend: Tessy) of Plymouth, Daniel (special Friend: Darlene Monahan) of Fredonia, Dennis (Pam) Goelzer of Glenbeulah, Donald (Pam) Goelzer of Plymouth, Nancy (Thomas) List of Pulaski, Monica (Randy) Harder of Plymouth, and Marian (Steve) Olmstead of Coloma, WI; 28 Grandchildren; 32 Great grandchildren; and 8 Great-great grandchildren with 4 on the way.
He is further survived by: Five brothers: James Goelzer of Sheboygan, John (Evelyn) Goelzer of Fredonia, Ted (Kathy) Goelzer of North Dakota, David (Joyce) Goelzer of Sheboygan Falls, and Gerald Goelzer of Sheboygan Falls; Sister: Susan (Robert) Lawrence of Sheboygan; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Harold was preceded in death by: Four grandsons: Ty Goelzer, Dakota Harder, William Goelzer, and Jimmy Gehrke; Son-in-law: Butch Gehrke; Daughter-in-law: Cindy (Brazelton) Goelzer; Brothers-in-law: John (Virgina) Michaels and Francis (Harriett) Michaels; Sister-in-law: Dorothy Goelzer; and his canine companion: Mitzi.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday (July 17, 2021) at 4:00 P.M.at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth with Pastor Richard York officiating. Cremation will follow the services and inurnment will be in St. Michael's Cemetery in the Town of Mitchell.
Visitation will take place at the Suchon Funeral Home on Saturday (July 17) from 2:00 P.M. until the time of services and military rites will be accorded following the services.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Harold's name.
