Jean Levandowski Obituary

Levandowski, Jean

With her family by her side, Jean V. Levandowski, age 88, of Howards Gove, Wisconsin, died November 26, 2012 under the care of St. Nicholas Hospice in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.

She was born May 18, 1924 in Norrie, Wisconsin, the daughter of Albert and Victoria Pierzchalski. On August 26, 1946, she was married to John C. Levandowski, who preceded her in death in 1995. John and Jean were lifelong residents of the Wausau area with Jean recently moving to Howards Grove.

Jean was the third youngest of ten children, including three brothers, Sylvester, Stanley, and Chester, and five sisters, Helen, Florence, Martha, Anna, and Sophie. Her youngest brother, Edward, was missing in action during the attack on Pearl Harbor.

Jean is survived by her two children Casimer "Buch" and his wife Deb of Howards Grove and Carol Otto and her husband Don of Schofield. She was Grandma Dusky to her three grandchildren Mark of Plymouth, Chad (Tara) of Sheboygan, and Ronda of Palm Desert, California. She was also Grandma Sunny to her great-grandchildren Emma Claire, Owen, and Addyson, and step-grandchildren Ben, Steve (Adina), Joanna (Ben) and Leigha, and step-great-grandchild Caiden.

In addition to her loving husband John, Jean was preceded in death by her beloved, youngest son Russell, her brothers and sisters, and her constant companion of almost 20 years Sunny.

Jean grew up on a farm in Norrie and later worked at St. Mary's Hospital, Memorial Hospital, and Wausau Hospital for over 20 years as a Nurse's Aid. She and "Big John" loved to polka dance and many times danced at the taping of the polka program that would air on the Green Bay TV station. She was babysitter, dogsitter, gardener, painter, wallpaperer, snow shoveler, lawn mower - a helper in any way for her children, grandchildren and neighbors. When she was inside, her hands were always busy with embroidery or crafts. She loved to walk for miles and take drives along Lake Michigan. Her favorite times were spent working outdoors. Her family was the most important thing in her life.

Jean's family would like to thank Countryside Manor and St. Nicholas Hospital for their help in the past few weeks, and special thanks to Jean's dear niece Judy, for her thoughtfulness and caring.

Jean will be buried at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Rothschild with a private family gathering. Mid-Wisconsin Cremation Society is assisting the family. Online condolences can be expressed at www.mwcs.ws

Both Cris and I send our condolences for the loss of your mother. I remember her from the few times I was Wausau - she was always bringing things for your garden. May your garden always remind you of her.
